Hey, I have my GCSE's coming up probably with a few others on here, first exam is in 8 days  and just wanted to know if there are any important tips from anyone?? :)

thanks, icy

Don't think about it too much, you'll just make yourself panic. Do what you can and don't work too hard, you can always resit them!

Yeah, i've got some coming up too, not sure when though.

I thought GCSE's were meant too be easy these days?

So my tip will be: Don't fall asleep in the exam room :D

Revise, but don't do any revision the night before or in the morning before the exam.

If you get worried in an exam, take deep breaths and think positive thoughts.

Read the questions thoroughly, highlight the ones you think you can do and double check you know what they are asking from you.

Workout how many minutes you have per mark, then only spend the maximum amount of time on the questions, if you go over leave it, come back at the end, this is especially relevant for low mark questions, and gaining the last marks on the high mark questions. Keep an eye on that clock.

Good luck, you will look back at these exams one day and laugh at how easy they are, but currently that statement doesn't help, and don't get complacent !!

Keep off the OCUK forums (and the whole internet really) between now and when you finish.
Yer - impossible. Got my first one (RE)
On the 18th

Need to start revision -ahh-

Revise and prepare.

This is the only advice you need.

Put the effort in now, and you'll get the grades you want. Don't do it half-heartedly. Do it as if it means the world to you.

Find a system of revision that works for you: alternate every 20 minutes between subjects (with a 5-10 minute break between), or revise a single subject heavily before moving onto the next.

Don't stess. Take plenty of breaks, and most importantly make sure you understand what you're reading, don't just parrot it in the exam.

Revise, but don't do any revision the night before or in the morning before the exam.

Most of my GCSE revision was done the night before and in the car on the way to school :D I think it's important to keep it fresh in your head straight before tbh.

I did Music too, as long as you did a decent composition the exam was pretty much a breeze to pass

I never revised for my GCSEs, didnt do to well on them either so from this we can conclude there is a correlation between revision and results.

Dont stress about it, keep a level head and remember, despite the impression that some teachers give, GCSEs are not the end of the world.

I did all my gcse revision the night before :o

Yeah, im not the best at following my own advice.

Trying to revise for my Programming with Objects exams tomorrow, I just cba, an exam for programming they have got to be nuts,
if they didn't water down the bloody coursework I wouldn't needed to do any exam to prove my skills.

Coursework saying, implement some code here and it will "magically work" takes the pee, and allowing noobs to pass the module.

Not really, post your Router/Modem to somebody them have them send it back once the exams are over. :p

And why would they do that? All work and no play makes icysniper a stressed boy. If you're stressed you can't do well in an exam. Trust me.

yeh need to chill out reading about computer stuff, and speccing up dream comps on overclockers :)

yeh, goin in to the exam with already 75% of the gcse done, not to bad tbh :)

GCSEs are in all reality, the easiest exams you will ever do.

But learn from our collective hindsight: revise!

If I were to have a do-over, I'd definitely put the effort in this time. :p
