i ended up doing about 5 1/2 pages of pure BS :)
the lord of the flies question was easy! 'Describe two violent scenes from the novel and explain there importance' or something like that

but the poems ive failed on

Poems went quite well with me too, although I had like 15 mins left, and only compared 2 poems! So I had to rush the ending and rush through of mice and men... :( Still think I did alright tho.

OMFG! How hard was higher ICT and higher English Lit!!!

Are you doing WJEC?

My English Literature went pretty well. I am hoping for an A, but since I found out that my coursework counts for 30%, I might get A*. (A* would be nice, but I have been predicted A, and I have targeted myself an A).

If your talking about the higher OCR ICT then i found it iritating.

Questions made no sense and looked badly thought out, failed to understand a question after reading it through for 5 minutes.

Think i dropped about 3 marks out of the 60 :o :o

Umm im not sure, were you're first few questions about input & output devices?

My ICT test (it was a short-course) was laughable. This is almost identical to one question (I cannot remember exact things, but the funny bits are all correct):

39. What would someone in the IT industry need to do to reduce the chances of RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury):

A - Use a browser.
B - Move the cables.
C - Adjust the height of the monitor and positioning of the keyboard.
D - Make regular backups to a secure medium.

The fact it was a multiple choice with four options made it incredibly funny. :p

Also another question had an image of a website which had a link on it somewhere, they asked (I have replaced the forgotten details with [insert] messages):

[Insert Question Number]. How would you get to [Insert Area Of Website] from the webpage shown:

A - Press the "Back" button.
B - Follow the link.
C - Send an e-mail.
D - Add the page to "Favourites".

We had 60 minutes to do 40 multiple choice questions that I could have done in Year 7 (I only just had access to the internet then). It was laughable, and I'm sure we did 80 questions in the mock examination. :p

Had my English Lit exam today and for some reason I was entered for Foundation, but after doing the exam I am pleased I was, it was a lot harder than I thought, we did Heroes and I will be honest I struggled to get into that book.

Then we did the Simon Armitage & Carol Anne Duffy poems.

I think the exam should have been a bit longer mind, 1 hour 45mins was not long enough for the amount you had to write, unless I went to indepth

Anyway I am doubtful now if I am going to pass English Lit but the ICT exam was a piece of p**s :D

Got my Media Studies exam tomorrow and Thursday.

Did my EngLit higher today, found it really rather easy and I am hoping for some good grades. Spanish last week was rediculously easy.

Is it me or was the AQA answer paper for the EngLit very vague as to what you should put in each box. Within seconds most people had hands up asking " What do I put in this box "

Got a bit of a rollocking for writing in the Anthlogy but hey, you live and learn/get away with it. I was doing the Heaney and Clarke poems and Of Mice and Men by the way...

ICT Double award exam tomorrow, another dos exam ! I've already been getting tips from people who have already done it...see we only have one proper computer room suitable for exams so they are doing the exams on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Next exam after that would be Maths on 4th June,
"Easy Easy Easy" is the cry

Good luck to everyone else for the rest of the exams.

Matt.

I did of mice and men in my english lit, that was such an easy book to do, its less than 100 pages long, simple story, lots of stuff to comment and explore.

The easiest way I found was to just talk absolute rubbish, like you know a thing or two, something unexpected because they'll think you've really explored in depth. Things like "poetry is like throwing up after a ten pinter, it is what it is and you look at it and you can't change it to be something else" or maybe "this poem is like a puzzle, it only goes together one way, if you got the scissors out and cut it and change it to fit around what you think then you'd ruin the beauty of what it is and the picture"

just absolute rubbish, it gets you the grade because it shows how in depth you've thought and explored.

was I the only one that thought the "Of Mice and Men" questions were pretty lame.. I did the one about how it was sad or something, pretty poor question in comparison to some of the others we have been doing in class

I did that one, "some people think the book is sad do you agree?" or something like that" i think i cocked it up basically i just wrote about them being friends at the start but because Lennie kept killing things their relationship deteriated and finally George had to kill him because he was spiraling out of control.

Did you write something like that?

WTF mate?! He didn't kill him because he was out of control! :p He killed Lennie because it would put him out of his misery quickly, instead of Curley killing him slowly...Someone messed up there :p I just talked about how he got shot in the head, the fathering of George and lonliness.

Ahhh. GCSE's

the easy days....

It gets no easier.. and revision can sometimes backfire as it can clog your mind up sometimes..

easier said than done but if you feel relaxed and get some stress out by just taking it easy for a bit.. you will do a lot better than stressing cramming textbooks in your eyes in an all nighter.

Get some porridge on the morning of the exam.. and you will be right as rain.

As said before.. you only need C's in English Maths and Science and you will be fine..

And to get a C you need to be conscious to understand your a creature on a planet in a very large space.

Just have fun because its going to be a good laugh having that summer before college or whatever you intend on doing
