GD may close for a while

I agree that there is an OcUK in-crowd, although I'd stop short of using the word 'clique'. Without intending any offence, many of the members who claim that there is no in-crowd are to some extent part of it. These things are a lot easier to see from the outside than the inside.

I couldn't agree more. There's far too much **** sucking going on between the OCUK "in-crowd".

As someone that isn't part of the 'in-crowd' posts like this, and your earlier reply aimed at Tru reeks of resentment.

I may be way off the mark, and this isn't aimed exclusively at yourself, but a lot of this clique garbage (insert obligatory imo) seems to stem from wanting to be part of something they're not, and has an embarrassing resemblance to playground-esque wanting to play with the bigger boys.

Regardless of how this post is perceived, please note that it was intended constructively.

Saw this post quoted so had to track back to find the "view post" link but why do you feel that? In this thread? Generally? Who are you referring to?
I'm talking about how GD is developing a core of regulars who have a very clique-y attitude. Of course it's the same at every busy forums, but it seems to me that it's getting worse here lately. People in the "in crowd" get treated with respect. Others get treated to sarcasm and insults.
Of course I can't name anyone specific as that would just cause arguments/flaming.

And lets not turn this into an argument, if you disagree then just ignore this post.

Edit: And no this isn't a dig at Tru.

Sorry No offence was ment by Clique, and no animals were hurt in the writing of this post.

The "in crowd" are in reality just the older members (maybe) im not sure.

thats all i have to say, just my opinion and probably wrong. ;)

Try getting involved in the banter then instead of complaining about the in-ness of the alleged in-crowd. Then maybe this shower wouldn't have happened.

Meets mean that online friendships are cemented in reality and are therefore maybe a bit stronger. I've not seen the sense of community in any of the other sub-forums (save Motors) to warrant meets. Case Central meet 2007 anyone?

I always thought the people in the in crowd were the ones who spent nearly every minute of their lives on here.

Hmm regulars and "in crowd" are 2 different things the way i see it.

I think im getting pretty "regular" cos i have the damn thing open all day at work, but im not in the "in crowd" lol

I don't know why they have left this open.

Either close it or don't whats the point in leaving everyone hanging on the word of one man? None.

If he's had enough supporting the life community then say it and do it.

Otherwise, why don't you crack the whip a little and add heavily to the UB lineup?

This whole "clique" business is nonsense. I'm clearly not a member of any secret clique of OcUK royalty but I don't ever feel mistreated or ignored. I don't think I'm any exception to any sort of trend either.

The way that GD moves, if it were closed now, the evening posters would miss something posted at lunch.

I didn't read the OP as 'GD closes in a couple of hours, get in quick', but more a case of trying to shake up the borderline trolls into shaping up, and perhaps an indirect reminder of the RTM function for the other members who face losing something that they value.

Exposure can only be a good thing imo

Your one of the ones that knackered this place up, ive lost count of the ammount of relationship threads that you post, if its not you its someone you know needs advice

Okay, so I have posted two relationship threads in the last 8 months. No, sorry, one relationship and one prgnancy thread, which wasn't for advice in the first place.

If that's what you're considering trashing the General Discussion, then I have no idea....

However, I see relationship threads every couple of weeks. I've only posted one, where I needed advice this year. I will ferain myself from sharing my views about you.

Edit: due to a few spelling mistakes. :(
