Tbh ive been banned a total of 0 times for trolling or other forum related naughtiness
 
I know lots of people off the forums personally. Some of them are very very close friends. Some I have been away on holiday with. Would I suspend them or moderate their posts if I had to? Yes. Because that's what I have to do.

Would I share a private joke with them on the forum? Yes. Because people do that all the time in real life anyway!

It's human behaviour to have mini groups and certain relationships accentuating. At the same time not everyone can or will get on with one another.

I think it is part of what makes this place so great, that people will come together when they need to, and friendships have developped. Heck I remember reading posts about a forumite popping round to someone's house to help fix a problem for free. Another guy from motors helped do some suspension work. Some guys in HTML helped with some coding etc... We are essentially a really nice bunch of people - from an outsider to these forums we can ALL look cliquey.

So what if you're not in on ALL the jokes? So what if you can't share the banter with someone else? So what if you're not popular on the forums? It's just a forum. If you think it's so sad, you obviously know you have real friends and real groups and cliques of your own - so why bring beef onto the forums?

I like my group of friends and the people I have developped relationships with off here - and I shall keep sharing my private jokes, and treating them as friends and maybe a bit differently to others from the POV of a normal member which is all I am + an edit button. From a moderator's point of view I'll do what I have to fairly and unequivocally across the board.

It should be but I don't think it is. It would be great fun driving one of those in a n exclusive group on the Motorway.

Anyway I'm off to hide from the Motors lot due to my ignorance on cars.
