as thursday is A level results day and i would like to hear how everybody did

PLUS some people may need help with clearing etc

if everyone RTMed every personal attack they receaved it may overload the dons, but it may also get somthing done about them!
I'm not saying the dons are slack, I'm saying that its a HUGE task!

GD (and the forums in general) is the reason I buy all my hardware from OcUK, I prefer to buy from here due to the community rather than it just being all about hardware, makes me feel better when parting with £thousands. I'm not saying I'll cease to buy from here if it closes, but it would be a big dissappointment, what will I do at work now : (

I didn't mean it was just you. It's just that it seems to me that GD is developing something of a core "inner circle" of people with a very elitist attitude, who look down on posters not in their "in crowd".

And as I said, closing GD (and indeed ignore lists) won't solve this.

I rekon that if it were closed for a little while, say a month or so, then people might get out of the habit of posting the type of stuff that got it closed in the first place.

When its repoened, maybe give it some kind of requirement to get in, like MM??

Just a thought.

I think he's being tongue in cheek, i.e. saying that your too busy sniffing glue from a crisp packet to be understood properly

For clearing, what can we do but to tell the to visit University websites/forums and ring up clearing lines?

Basmic just replied to a post in another thread asking for business networking sites. While his response was a tad aggressive, he was entirely right in referring the OP to a search engine. Now had the OP something like:

"Have any of you used a business networking site? If so, what did you think of it? Can you recommend one?"

well that might have received a better reply than just asking for a list of sites.

Perhaps some (myself included) could do with lessons on how to post properly.

I've been punished for "Gloating/Spamming to get to 100 posts" before, The Don's took about 120 posts off my post count so I did learn my lesson.

I try and keep my spam down to a minimum, and I've been trying to contribute a lot more recently so yeah.
I think GD should stay open but should be trimmed of the spam, big time.
