What a load of rubbish this thread is. If GD is going to close Spie should just do it. All this thread has achieved is lots of people saying GD is crap. It wont change a thing.

Ultimately there's no solution in the short term.

It's just like anything in life you get used to something you become blaze about it.

Removing GD will be a shock at first to some but people will get used to it. Some people will leave. Some people will get interested in other parts of the forums, and some people will remain unaffected.

Then when things have settled down GD may be re-introduced (which also may never go anyway), people will see it as a welcomed addition and maybe use it a bite more carefully.

Personally, I think the threads in themselves and subjects are usually OK - it's the attitudes and the people posting in the threads that for me has ruined GD.

The legnth of time thing isn't a bad Idea, but too many people place too much importance on what their avatar is lol, just enjoy the forums and speak to poepole, dont worry about how many posts you have! (although I was pretty chuffed when I hit 1000).
