As far as I know, it just upped the frequency by two or three hundred mhz (at most), added loads of extra latency and did nothing for performance on the X1950, HD2900 and HD3800 series.

News just in . . . . the value of GDDR5 has taken a sudden downturn since experts at XtremeSystems found out that current batches of the memory being used on new radeon HD4870's may be unstable.

No spokes person from Xtreme was available to comment further but one inside source was overheard saying. "Yo this friggen suxor dude, all I did was flash the BIOS using Beta software, voltmod the card and overclock the memory up a few thousand MHz and it just DIED! . . . . what is this junk that ATI are selling!"

Well, the Pentium D came out after, and now we have Pentium E's (E2140, 2160, etc), I can't wait for GDDR F.

Pentium 5 was due to follow on from Pentium 4 until Intel binned Netburst and developed the Core architecture instead.

I thought Tejas and 'Netburst Nehalem' were supposed to go under Pentium 4 anyway?
