**Gear up with NVIDIA** Are you ready for Battlefield 3?

I would think sapphire 6950 toxic xfire(unlocked(well I know for a fact 1 can be, not sure on the other yet) & overclocked) will run it just as well as a 590, but will be fraction of the price.

I have a u2711 btw.

Is BF3 expected to be better than BFBC2?
I thought BCBF2 was ok, but I wasn't that keen on it. I enjoyed it for a while.
I haven't played BF2 so I don't really know what to expect.
I think my favourite FPS of recent times was CoD4.
I think what annoyed me in BCBF2 were the vehicles.

How would it run on a GTX 480 (@ 1080p)? I'm guessing much like a GTX 570? Probably pretty good if I turn the more demanding effects down?

How is 580 'The Best' when 590 is clearly a better card?
I think it states in the advert that the 5970 has the "epic performance" title so it does indicate it to be the better card. I would like to give the 5970 a go on the battlefield :D. My 580 can get a sweat on at 1920x1080 120Hz in todays games even, so i got a feeling my gpu is gonna have a tuff time on the battlefield 3 engine maxed out.

LOL, I'm just curious what will programmers say regarding to GAME REQUIREMENTS. It will be typical "business conflict" with nVidia thought I suppose :-p

BF2 worked better on nvidia cards. Not sure if it was deliberate but will this also be the case with BF3? Is it sponsored again

Agreed, Shocking thing is some morons with to much money will buy it :D

with a free mouse and game and christina hendricks will install it for you personally, naked

The 570 looks great at that price. Not to sure on the 590 though :p

That being said, my 6870's should be able to handle it ;)

Depends at what res you play BF3 . People on 50" tv may need the latest cards but I think I'll be fine with a 4870 as I still am a caveman with a CRT

shock horror as ultra high end enthusiast hardware is expensive.

seriously though, nobody is a moron if they choose to buy a 590, if you have the money and want the best then why not?
a 50" TV is likely going to be 1080p which is no better than any 22-24 inch pc monitor.
people who buy a 590 will probably have a 2560X1600+ res to run which would cost far more to buy than the GPU itself.

there are cards at price points to suit everyone in my opinion. the 560s aren't on the 'geared up' campaign but I would bet money that they would play BF3 admirably.

a pair of 5850s in CF are still a very formidable combo

that configuration is something I still suggest to customers looking for maximum bang for buck

gaming up to 1080p i would imagine that you will be able to have most if not all the bells and whistles enabled but that is only going off my experience with the alpha [which did not support multi GPU]

my 480 sli wasn't put to the test on alpha game play and i had to make do with a single 480 running the game at 2560X1600 and it managed ok.
i would say that 5850 crossfire should stand up to it well.

it depends on what you want really.
you guys aren't stupid, I know that 80% of you have a system capable of running BF3 easily. This promotion is designed to raise awareness of the capabilities of the current Nvidia range. people with older cards will surely want to upgrade for the list of great games due to arrive soon.

I'd imagine you are doing very well on your BF3 pre orders as you are cheaper than the forest place! Nvidia cards are awesome value for money if you go for say 2x 460 in sli (if they still sell them anywhere!) or maybe the 560 in sli.

I'm surprised you don't offer more systems for sale with lower end nvidia cards in Sli (Maybe I've missed it) but these provide cracking value for money!

Re the 5850's - I'm very pleased with the performance of them a year or more on since purchase (came from ocuk). The run a lot cooler than the 6950 my friend has and edge his card a reasonable amount! My monitor is a 22" sammy at 1680 res so I'm hoping for lots of eye candy! If not I'll have to overclock the cards to 950 for a few more fps :)
PS Re my previous comment ;) Here you are in all your cartoon glory ;)
