its difficult to say without the actual game being released, we will know more when the beta launches soon.

hopefully they will have some multi gpu support for the game

i think my single 6970 direct cu II will do just fine..

if anyone is stuck on what to purchase for bf3:
either a single radeon 6950 or 2x 6850s will do brilliantly and are both within a 250 pound budget.
if you are with nvidia then a 560 or 570 will do alright as well.

you dont need these overpowered cards that cost an arm and a leg as quite frankly a cheaper card will preform just fine. Such as the 590 or the 6990.

Myself personally, I'd far rather have green power (even with the loltastic ATI advert for "something green") and plus nvidia is far more friendly with older games which I still like playing, such as Dungeon Keeper 2 etc.

I realise that wasn't aimed at me RJ, but just my own opinion. If the 5850's weren't such great performers for the price in xfire I'd be all over one of your nvidia cards.

To be honest if the benchmarks on release show that I can't run it with a 460 then I'm just not going to be able to get it. I can't afford to upgrade just to play one game, no matter how awesome the game will be.

I don't know why but it bugs me when people say that about pc stuff but not when someone spends ridiculous amounts for a bmw just for a badge when a fiat punto will get you from A to B just as easily.

If someone's hobby is PC gaming and they can afford it they should deffo go for it. Only thing is I'm green with jealousy as I can afford it but need to buy other RL stuff as I'm not young or single...
