Gears of War 3 Dated (Official blah blah)

Well the end of the beta is near, really enjoyed it ! Day one purchase for me for sure :D (just hope they get enough dedicated servers up for release day ! )

What to play on-line now  Battle Field Company 2 Vietnam is looking like an option !

Actually really enjoyed the beta

Depending on what time I get home from work ill be on till pretty late to get the most of it

If you want to keep any unlockables from the beta into the full game DO NOT delete the beta save file. You can delete the launcher though.
To delete the Gears 3 Beta but leave your saves intact:

Go to the System Settings menu on your Xbox 360
Select “Memory”
Select “Games”
Select the Gears of War 3 Beta (507MB) and delete it.

Details of the EPIC edition have been announced....

Microsoft has revealed details about the Limited and Epic editions for Gears of War 3.

Priced at £59.99, the Limited Edition will feature the game in a special case, along with the Octus Service Medal awarded to Adam Phoenix, the father to main character Marcus Fenix, in recognition for inventing the Hammer of Dawn weapon.

The medal, the Coalition equivalent of the Nobel Prize, is similar to an actual machine cog and each one features a unique code to unlock Adam Phoenix as a COG soldier for use in the multiplayer mode. There is also an engineering schematic for the Hammer of Dawn.

A range of mocked-up photos hint at revelations of Adam Phoenix's backstory, while a copy of his last will and testament tellingly reveals that he left $1m to Dominic Santiago. Finally, the package includes a Coalition flag, which can actually be spotted in the Gears of War 3 game inside Marcus's quarters.

Also announced was the GAME and GameStation exclusive £99.99 Epic edition, containing all of the above items and other special collectibles.

Inside is a model of Marcus Fenix created by Chris Perna, who has been the Gears of War art director for ten years.

Perna used the actual character model from the game development to print out the figure in 3D, creating a high poly model from a low poly design. The figure has been finished with special paint, meaning Marcus's skin glows with iridescence when illuminated with a back light.

Epic said that each model will be hand finished, meaning there could be just a limited run of 5,000 made available.

The model will be joined by booklet The Art and Design of Gears of War by Tom Bissell and an Infected Omen Weapon Pack, giving five weapons custom skins in multiplayer.

Not sure if we want to add this to the OP or not....

Epic and Microsoft are teaming up to offer not only a special console bundle pack, but also custom, individual controllers -- both of which will be accompanied by download tokens for in-game content.

For $399, you can snag the console bundle (which has special sound effects like the Halo: Reach console), which features a 320gb hard drive, two Gears of War 3-branded wireless controllers, a copy of the game, headset and two pieces of DLC: the Infected Omen Weapon pack, skins for the game's starting weapons (the Lancer, Retro Lancer, Gnasher, Hammerburst and Sawed-Off Shotgun) and the Adam Fenix multiplayer character. This bundle goes on sale September 20.

If you're looking for just a special controller, you can snag one of them for $59.99 starting on August 11 -- which has that new transforming d-pad and the aforementioned in-game content. Hit the gallery below for some shots of the new hardware, conveniently posed up against a red wall. So much red!

Personally I think it looks butt ugly, but I may pick up one of the controllers if they're sold separately just for collectors sake

Nah, it's not the game. Good pluck though. As I said in the other thread, be interested to hear what the power/dvd open sounds are. Praying for some of Cole's words of wisdom tbh. :D
