Gears of War....total waste of energy

Just get the torrent version and see if that works, if that gives the same grief it is your system/drivers, if that one works you know it's the DVD and copy protection crap.

Just got Gears of War and it took 20 minutes to install....screen then went blank and CD stopped spinning....looked on drive, no files, no nothing.

Hit the Control Panel and launched it from there, as soon as I get to change some video options, it crashes to desktop stating Gears of War has stopped working !!

WTF?

Never, Never in all my gaming days has a game installed so poorly and failed so dramatically.

**looks on internet hoping to find a patch or I shall burn this waste of DVD**

ive had this prob with GFW games there are always in pain in the ass to install and download updates.run GOW as a admin and also disable visual themes ,disable desktop composition , disable display scaling on high dpi settings you can do this buy right clicking on the shortcut in the games explorer folder of the game in question click edit then click on compatibility and all the options can be changed in there. also when GOW starts up and you find the mouse had disappered but the game has loaded as you can hear the sound but the screen has minimized to the taskbar ALT TAB will bring you mouse back then click on GOW and it should work. hope this helps it worked for me.

I tried to force myself to like this game as everyone seems to love it.

I can play it, I just cant enjoy it and about 1/8th way through I formated PC and did back up my SAVES but aint sure I will ever resume it again.

I did exactly the same,formated didn't saveit was playable but there was something missingdoubt i'll install it again
