GEARS pc performance article

max everything on dx9 (no aa) getting 65+fps all the time... running at 1600x1200, smooth as sweets, a few loading hitches here and there, but nothing serious.

I'd personally rather make my own decision about what fps I find acceptable and also whether I prefer more AA, more fps, more/less detail etc. That's my decision, not for a reviewer to make.

For that you've got a case to ask for a more complete review that shows comparitive FPS at different settings (e.g. no AA, no AF, different res)...However, that's a bit more indepth than the [H] reviews usually go for.

The thing that doesn't seem to occur to a lot of people is that the performance hit for AA/res/etc differs from card to card - hence HardOCP's different review method.
 
at least i didnt brag about how i got it :) had the dignity to keep it low. and like you guys say, for all you know, my mate could have shipped one over...

but back to the game, its brilliant, as ive just posted in another thread, at the very start of the gae, there was a warning about no profile accepted, but saying it would save, its a lie, it saves alright, but if you come out of game and go back in, everything is lost. so create a profile before playing (its like the 360 windows gameing profile thing).

i must admit though, ive not seen such a brilliant port since.... well ever really, its awsome that EPIC have pulled their fingers out and realised PC gamers are serious and they have done a serious job.

i have posted my information within legal times of the game being released so further comments on how i got the screenie and details isnt important... ******* me off tbh

come on now. you know the rules on posting anything regarding warez. if it's impossible to get it here without importing and you sure as heck didnt import it otherwise you would have said so.... then why are you taking offense because people are making jokes? the rules forbid you from posting anything warez related, that makes screenshots from an illegally obtained game. whether its in the legal release time or not makes no difference. you knowingly did it anyway and now your trying to eat that cake as well. if you dont like it...well, you know the answer to that one lol

because i took the risk of showing it in the first place to let people know the performance was good. guess the risk wasnt worth it. delte the posts please.

i never said it was, but anyway he implied he had it before release. it doesnt really make much difference. i dont mind the pics, hell i dont care. but rules is rules and if you break them, well, you cant really complain much if people dont like it:)
 
well in that case, i guess i was out of line with my snappy come back to the pirate jokes, i apologise to those i offended or naffed off :)

and for the last time, its a she, unless my son states its him using this account, im a she lol
