My score from 3D Mark 05...

3DMark05Score.jpg

How did you get yours at 6557 at stock? Did you have that Zalman cooler on it when you ran 3D Mark 05?

Is just under 6000 good?

Tips for me to get my score up?

Thanks, Steve!

What is Volt Modding and what will it do?

Steve!

Volt modding is just increasing the amount of voltage the gfx core gets.
Just like increasing the vcore of a cpu to allow for higher clocks.

This one is nifty as you just use a pencil! :D

I should be joining this "club" sometime tomorrow (I hope, the order tracker doesn't say it was dispatched today :( ).

Tell me, does this card need an additional power connector or does the PCI-E connector handle that these days.

And one more thing, is the fan really that loud? Maybe I should keep my current Zalman V700 assuming it fits.
Can't Wait!

card is fully powered via pci-e socket.

840mhz is the limit in coolbits, i have the slider for the ram at the max 840, real speed shows up as 837mhz.

under testing my ram is fully stable up to 865mhz. but i don;t want to use a third party program to do any sort of clocking since coolbits is more than sufficient. hopefully someday nvidia ups the limit in their drivers, or someone hacks the driver or somehow finds a way to set a higher limit in coolbits.

Fan is fearly loud, mine isnt when idle but when I play a game its noise level rises.

Not all bad, when your hyped up in the game you forget about it :P

Steve :)

Here's my 2 cents worth :)

As 3Dmark05 seems to be the benchmark of choice, here's my score with my CPU at stock and my card running 630MHz/1600MHz.

I'm using the 84.21whql drivers as these seem to bench the best and give the best image quality as well. The 9x.xx drivers are optimized for the newer cards(especially the 7950x2), so it sort of makes sense that I get better scores with this older driver.

Temperature wise, mines never hit 60° and I can't hear it at all. My card is an OEM Emtek(I think)and came fitted with an all aluminium Zalman cooler; hence the low temps and no noise

The overclock limits are 641MHz for the GPU and 1700+MHz for the memory. I'm waiting for my new motherboard(DFI Infinity)to be delivered so as I can work on my CPU overclock and then see what sort of scores I get.

Not bad for a card that cost me 88 quid delivered :) :)

Thats encouraging, i thought mine was a dodgy one as my score was lower than one or two peoples. Turns out they have volt modded theirs.... which i may have to do! I want 7000!

I use headphones most of the time anyway. Gives a better gaming experience in my opinion. Plus I use Ventrillo or in-game VoIP so i need my mike.

Am I not getting the full potential of my graphics card due to my processor not being very good?

Is coolbits worth getting?

Steve!

Not too sure about your CPU, but all coolbits is, is a reg file that changes a setting in the registry to open up the NVidia overclocking settings in the driver. Its a TINY download and very easy to play with. Do a google for it and start overclocking - use the detect optinmal settings for 'instant' results - i went up in 3d mark 05 but about 500 with that alone!

Ordered one of these for the GF, should arrive tomorrow :)
Not bad for 80 odd quid I thought, nothing better for that price.

Will keep you guys posted on what clocks I get out of it :D

Is there any way that 3D Mark 05 could have basically fu*ked my graphics card?

On Call of Duty 2 I am now experiencing short bursts of lag...

My ping is always 40 odd so it is not that.

But I am using Wireless Internet...

Steve :)
