Yeah, this, plus I wonder what drivers they're running the 3870X2 on. I'm not justifying ATI's current drivers for the 3870X2, but there may be substantial room for improvement (at least their current driver efforts imply as much).

They have? I guess some of the 7950gx2 quad owners will be jumping for joy that their setups now work after 2 years. :eek:
 
just ran crysis at all very high, and tbth, i wasn't impressed... anyways, those benches look way off... notice how much better the card is at PREY?

enough of this pre-release rubbish; lets see some proper reviews...
 
I'd actually like to see a 9800 GX2 Vs Trifire 3870 x2 + 3870 because you could probably get a trifire setup for less than a 9800 GX2. Yes being the fastest single card is nice but if you can beat the performance for less money I know which option I would be going for.

Still nvidia's none SLI on intel boards is hurting themselves badly.

Agreed, obviously there trying to push there motherboards but I think they would get more from the sales of extra graphics cards from enabling SLI on intel chipsets then limiting SLI to nforce boards only.

While true about that..... but perhaps this tells us the articles benchies and charts are correct ;)

If 9800GX2 is remotely faster then the 3870X2 u can still bet mass card selling on MM it always happens regardless if a new card is due in 2-3 months time!
