GeForce + Radeon Previewing DirectX 12 Multi-Adapter with Ashes of the Singularity

Are you really saying that roughly 70% scaling is that bad? (Keep in mind that they had to use older drivers for multi adapter to work, and those results are compared to results ran by new drivers).

Something is off in scaling between 2 nvidia cards though. But I think you're being unreasonable here by expecting first ever test version of multi adapter to work without any flaws.

But the point is that it works, The first same vendor multi GPU setups were horrid, This is a step in the right direction :)

Show me it working with good scaling and decent frametimes across a wide range of situations and I will say it is ok, until then it is rubbish.

When running the actual AOTS bench on my NVidia and AMD cards there are plenty of problems as things stand. Trying to use both brands together is not going to make things any better and will probably be an absolute nightmare in practice.

People need to be very critical of demos like the one in the OP and should demand a lot more than they are. The alternative is to be stuck with something that is total garbage and should never have seen the light of day.

Oh.....Kaap don't be such a pessimist :p

Yes it has its problems but the concept is good, very good. its brand new tech give it time to work its way through the crawling stage.

During the first days of multi GPU setups the scaling and frame times were completely rubbish, Did you write them off as quickly as you are these ? Same situation.

If people had your attitude then, Multi GPU setups and support would have been scrapped and you wouldn't have your 4 way GPU setups now.

If people had my attitude then maybe software/games would work better on launch day.:D

Accepting second best will not help to improve things.:)

Show me it working properly and I will believe that.

Show me the first ever multi GPU setup working flawlessly with 100% scaling and no frame time issues ;)

Exactly.

As everyone has said but you're losing your **** over it for some reason :p , It's just proof of concept to show it can be done, As time goes on if there's call for it, It will be brought up to standard.

Even if one vendor locks out the other the potential to run one high and one lower range card is a promising one.

Want to nudge frame rates up a little on your fury/980ti and not spend £500 over doing it, grab cheap older gen card it's a winner.

I do hope this is allowed to flourish in one way or another.

Indeed, The more options we have the better :)

I am not losing anything, I am stepping back and seeing it for what it is.

AOTS is not a very good bench for single cards let alone multi GPUs.

Check the bench thread and the fps between the different resolutions. There is good scaling going from 1440p to 2160p (the fps double) but there is terrible scaling between 1080p and 1440p where there is very little difference. If the bench worked properly people should be getting over 80fps @1080p with a single high end card.

Lets see the game devs fix single card performance before we even go anywhere near mixed multi GPUs.

Well they only used AOTS in this test as it's the only proper DX12 capable title out, It's early days especially with DX12, If we were all this pessimistic though about everything nothing would get done and we'd all be stuck in the past :p

I notice anandtech have not published any 1080p scores either, bearing in mind what I just said in my previous post about 1080p with a single card I wonder what else they are not telling us.:D

Probably more or maybe nothing, All I know is that multi vendor support is in the cards...ba-dum-tsss.....:p and that sounds awesome to me :)

Looks very good gains all round can't put it down for that and in my opinion works very well for such a young tech
