Obama has been quite a nightmare for the American far right. He saw the US through a slow but steady recovery, introduced the first steps towards universal healthcare and he started no wars, as well as reconciliation processes with Cuba and Iran. As a result, Hillary is sure to win the next elections so the nutters hate him deeply and so do their friends from other nations.

"Australians being the beacon of common sense once again." :D

Ah yes, the old "someone else did something worse so that means the original thing isn't as bad" argument.

They are both bad things.

So? Is every description of where a certain government sits on the political spectrum meant to be 'in relation to the US', because nobody told me.

This forum is excessively right wing and is not an accurate representation on the UK electorate. This pleases me. Think Fox News, then think, living in a fact condom where truth is refused entry. Are you there yet ? Now think, how about helping those less fortunate than me by paying a little more tax and not pretending that poor people are scroungers? How about supporting the NHS instead of trying to privatise it and make it a for profit enterprise? How about supporting workers rights by supporting unions instead of creating a zero hour contract system which rapes the poor and rewards the rich? How about being the 6th largest economy on Earth and not needing food banks to fill peoples bellies every day? How about a tax system where companies pay their fair share and rich people pay their fair share and poor people are given a break for once ?

How about just being a decent person ?

Thanks for listening people, I'm available for children's birthday parties and bah mitzvah's. Trust me your details. ;)

Fox News wishes it was as right wing as this forum. You're totally right but it'll fall on deaf ears here. Remember, there's no such thing as society but there is such a thing as our "leaders" covering up paedophillia.

Conservative have privatised very little compared to what Labour did to the NHS.

Fox News is associated with US conservatives who we have no parties that far right. The Democrats are further right than UK conservatives.

Literally no-one that I'm aware of has said 'lets ban immigrants', also no-one has come up with a good reason why we can't control immigration.

Oh and the recent back of immigrants to the UK might be net contributors while they're young, healthy and in work, but what happens in 30-40 years time when they're old, retired and in need of medical attention? Assuming they stay of course. All the immigrants from south Asia in the '60s are now a net drain on the UK's public finances, whereas previously they were net contributors too.

But that argument about being net contributors would apply to pretty much everyone once they've beyond working age wouldn't it? If the argument is that at a certain point they stop being a net contributor and become a net drain then that's near enough every pensioner isn't it? If people pay into the system (wherever they're from) then shouldn't they also be able to rely on being supported by that system? Otherwise what you're asking for appears to be - give us the money until you cease to be as useful then get out, surely with benefits from contributors you should also expect responsibilities to care for them in return.

Australians being the beacon of common sense once again. Hopefully UKIP will pick up similar policies:

Tony Abbott has never struck me as a beacon of common sense and he's not said anything to change my mind there.

How about earning an extra £4125 before paying tax at all? Pretty big break for the poor, no?

How about 45% income tax for the richest compared to the 40% for all but 30 days of the last government? That's asking the rich to pay more surely?

How about the current government doing far more than any previous government at trying to close the loopholes these companies use?

They are already working in the right direction.

The Eds want to take your 19 year old, with 2 good a-levels and lock him into an appalling system with a 4 year apprenticeship which earns utterly gubbins amounts of earnings.
That's what they want, to take people fully capable of getting a decent job, providing for themselves, and actually paying some money back into the system, and fill them full of apprenticeships.
They should be aiming at the unqualified 16 year olds, and making them productive, giving them something to better themselves and lift themselves out of unemployment or poverty.

Anyway keep banging on about zero hours contracts like Labour know how to fix them without increasing the numbers of unemployed.

Well my constituency has voted Conservative and for the same MP since 1997, so I don't see that changing this year.

I think it's time they brought in proportional representation instead, at least that way people's vote would count towards the bigger picture.

Very unlikely that UKIP will have a significant number of MPs, way under 10 in my opinion. I think a Labour / SNP government is all but guaranteed, with a few Plaid and Green.

It is quite possible that 10 UKIP MPs would be all Cameron needs to form a slight majority.

Yes, the point is that when Moses and is PCLE idiot friends come out with nonsense like "immigrants are net contributors, let them all in", they aren't being as clever as they think. Plus they completely ignore the social arguments against immigration. I don't really understand their motivation, other than a competition to see who can be the most "right-on".
