Genuinely shocked today...

So what happens to emission when you give the CAT back to who you borrowed it from?

It gets it's decat pipe back on...like it did today. Sounds better now :D

EDIT: Anyone ever started their car up without an exhaust attached?! SWEET JESUS :D:D

What about those people with metal aftermarket pedals then, would they fail an MOT?

Those aftermarket pedals are usually diamondplate or a similar design, which is considered a non-slip surface.

When the rubber wears down, the metal underneath is smooth and slippery.

First I've heard of it being an MOT failure, but I guess I can see why.

As for glueing some rubber on, I don't see the problem. Yes it's part of the brake system, but so long as a decent glue is used it'll stay on. It's not like they're bodging the braking system by replacing the brake pads with bits of plywood cut to shape or anything.

Being an MG garage one would think they would stock the correct bulbs for said MG's ;P

There's not that many bulb fitments, they arent exactly marque specific - I'd expect most garages to have all the common ones!

Does it not pass with a decat? Most cars will, wont they?

Years ago a friend bought a 1.3 Orion for 50 quid from an auction and the exhaust manifold dropped off on the way home

It wasnt dragging along the ground so he just drove it home like that, there was no chance of a conversation in the car though!
