Absolutely bizarre that ended up in court if it did happen as described.

Honestly just sort of reads like they thought he was drunk because of his accent and didn't like his dialect lol. Most younger women would object to being called darling by a stranger I think (and might put 'pet' in the same group if they're not used to it?), but it's hardly grounds to assume sexual intent even if accompanied by a steamy elbow groping.

Of course not being there myself who knows what happened...

Feel pretty bummed out for him that he never got his starter though - wonder what it was!

It is interesting comparing the two articles.

The standard only presents the accusations of the waitresses and does not discuss Glenn's side of the story. That could be due to timing of the article and the trial being ongoing at the point it was published, though one could say they have a duty of care to update the article with the relevant information as it is presented

The daily Mail mostly discusses Glenn's side of the story and does not fully go into the details of what he has been accused of. For what ever reason we do get a better picture of the timeline on that night in the daily mail article and they do mention what happens in two pieces of CCTV evidence.

Interesting choice of language considering he was found not guilty. Then again I do seem to remember that you were arguing for ignoring the courts verdict and doing your own research making your own mind up.

But also sad that cases like this absolutely do "trivialise" actual sexual assault and make real victims more likely to be dismissed.

He hits the nail on the head with his statement "people are friendlier in the north east than in London", and what kind of miserable sheltered lifestyle do you need to have lived to not know that Geordies refer to pretty much everyone as "pet"? :confused:

Guilty or not I'm competent enough to think his behaviour was deplorable and I'd hate for one of my loved ones to be in the situation this weird old man put the young waitress in.

Y'all sheepy group thinkers bumming off the courts is really odd turn of events for the right wingers. I think you're importing American culture because their courts are politically established or something.
