German Grand Prix 2011, Nürburgring Circuit - Race 10/19

That replay just showing nicely why Hamilton got away with that, Mark was never in front and so Hamilton could hold his line, where as Alonso lifted before the apex so Lewis was miles in front leaving Alonso nothing to do, if he'd taken the same line he'd have just smacked into the back of Hamilton's car which would have been stupid.

Hamilton has been infront before and Webber has driven into him.

Hopefully Vettel will lose it from here and have a few DNFs.

It should stop the rumours of Whitmarshes demise.

Edit nice to see domincali mention that :)

Well to a certain degree you might ask, if Hamilton wasn't there, would Whitmarsh be in a bit of trouble.

I'm not convinced Hamilton had the best car today at all, not far off though, but he's just flat out the best driver on the grid.

THing is, I'm also not sure Hamilton couldn't have done the same last race if they actually put fuel in his car, he'd have been a little slower at the beginning but if he continued to keep Alonso behind him and was just fast enough then later on he'd have kept up the pace aswell.

Its also the same agressive driving today that won him a race and put him a mile ahead of Button, sometimes it will work out, sometimes it won't, considering it works out for him WAY more than half the time and to the tune that he gets WAY more points than if he drove like Button, its clearly the right move.

Great drive, ridiculous qualifying lap, though a lot of his driving quality is simply huge balls. Alonso even, one of the best around came out after most of his pits very hesitant around corners, Hamilton comes out and throws himself into the corner with the same confidence as an old set of tyres he already knows how they'll react.

DRS seemed weak today, not great positioning but barely anyone got inside the 1 second mark then gained quickly.

Button, lame, again just about his only "overtake" was the guy infront making a huge mistake, even Button didn't say there was a problem with the car, and after his pit in clear air he was doing similar times to Hamilton, he just gets stuck behind everyone. Actually Button was completely pathetic on the start, not a great get away sure but then he plonked himself right on the outside of the straight, there was MILES of room inside him, but he just left a massive gap for people to push through, everyone else crammed into the corner as tight as they could but Button essentially chickend out.
