It's not as though Lewis is light years ahead in this championship though, is it? Clearly the car is not performing.

I used to love this track. Then they removed the best sections entirely - ripped the tarmac up and everything, it's now just a slightly less developed bit of the forest.

Unfortunately, it makes it a bit of a walk to visit this

I truly miss the days of flat out through the forest, with the awesome slipstream battles.

The only one that has this feel now is Spa

And F1 is serious business here

I miss the classic Hockenheim, the old straights were what made the track special. The new layout has some charm (thankfully) but it's just not the same as one of the best races of my childhood (Rubens winning for Ferrari here I'll never forget).

Hoping Merc pull something out for some home race magic just to keep things interesting.

Mainly new sidepods for Mclaren - http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/101268 - which I expect will mean improved exhaust area as well.

L shaped pods coming back? Now that they have figured out that they can move the exhaust gasses with shaped bodywork?

I really hope the funky looking wings on the Lotus in its press shots with the Tumbler from Silverstone make an appearance

Hopefully these improvements will actually result in improved lap times and race results. McLaren seem to be going backwards very quickly at the moment, but with the field so close all is not lost yet.

Wonder if they will try the nearly stepped nose, sure someone told me they had it outside the garage at Silverstone but I never seen it on track, agree though that even a small gain could see them leap right back up front as it is so close.
