German Grand Prix 2014, Hockenheim - Race 10/19

Another poor show from Button. Really can't see him at McLaren (or possibly anywhere else) next season at this rate, think Dennis is losing patience with him and I don't blame him. Time to retire Jenson and bask in the fading memory of your (very lucky) 2009 championship.

JUST LEAVE JENSON ALONE !!!

Need both Williams to be out if front while Lewis catches up. I would love to know how a brand new front disc fails like that.

Rosberg uses Carbon Industries brake discs and pads
Hamilton uses Brembo discs and pads.

Structural failure of the left front disc. *says Paddy Lowe... I thought it was the right tbh.*

Basically blows out Brundle's little theory on Rosberg handling the kers failure at Canada better than Hamilton and "did better on the brakes". Different brake material, incomparable. I personally didn't think there was any question mark there. Even with the same brakes there can, like today, be a failure out of nothing on effectively brand new discs, they aren't all made to 100% equality. Had Rosberg gone out and Hamilton struggled on in Canada I would have said simply unlucky, not that Hamilton did better. You can't quantify something like that. That even ignores the entire Hamilton following car, hotter temps, harder to cool the brakes situation.

If however he's had two failures, and others have had failures, it's time to switch out and get used to something that doesn't fail.

Hamilton should still get 2nd at least, first if Rosberg has issues and probably will. They should just make both Mercs sit out qually to provide action.

people keep saying this but bar something unexpected happening tomorrow i think hammy will have done well to finish 2nd.

There's still massive potential for Mercedes to screw up the strategy. At no point should Hamilton be told to manage or save anything other than fuel (if that). He's got a pile of fresh tyres and should just be told to go balls to the wall flat out all race and take an extra stop if needed.

Why the car is miles faster than everyone except his team mate and they have proved how easy they can get to 2nd already more than once this season. 2nd is the minimum I would expect unless they hit more trouble. As they have shown already a bad qualifying is not the end of the world with this car.

I said when kimi was getting plaudits for his consistent plodding in that lotus that even by his own words they should have won more and earlier. I imagine a driver on top of his game at the peak of his ability would have won the title in that lotus. He so vastly over rated since his return. A shadow of the driver he was. Can he be the first driver to get the sack twice from the same team?

Deluded in saying the lotus held him up then, destroyed by his teammate then put out by of qualifying by his ex one.

The only thing left was to cry about balance and sure enough he did.

Time to jog on old dog.

Yep think Kimi will be bored by the end of the season.
