Rear brakes failed, he was essentially a passenger. Hamilton getting pretty unlucky with reliability this season, Mercedes in general are pretty poor it seems for reliability.

I imagine he will take a gearbox now and start 21st as it would only take him 3 corners to pass the Marussia/Caterham/Sauber cars.

bad bad news, if its really hot in race he'll really have to risk the car just to make his way through the field in an attempt to minimize the loss to rosberg, smell another dnf for hammy

Potentially, see if anything happens to rosberg, you would imagine it would be fine. If everyone else had a brain they would all have gone out before Rosberg and messed up the final minutes for him.
