German Grand Prix 2016, Hockenheim - Race 12/21

I fear in many places it will be. This is what happens wit Brexit!....oh sorry, wrong thread. The cars are boring, the racing is often boring and the drivers all seem to mush into 1 these days. Needs a shake up and ideal some better noise too.

Silverstone has had record crowds every year since the V6s came along, and their increasing capacity by another 25,000.

Surely Hamilton will get a penalty after that? It could be argued it was a team error, but lolFIA means he'll probably have something either way.

Be harsh to punish the driver when they don't have any control over it.

Edit; just watched it. He's coming out the garage and not the pitbox, so he should be able to see Grosjean coming. Seems a bit derp.

If he gets the reprimand he should take a load of new engine parts as well and get all of the penalties out of the way in one go. Should still come 2nd tomorrow.

What is it with gormless morons who just stand behind the pundits and look into the camera when they're doing pitlane chats. Couldn't look more idiotic if they held up a sign saying "look mum, I'm on TV!"

What on earth is "Qualifying sessions will be stopped if there are double waved yellow flags" supposed to mean? If there are double-waved yellows then they'll red flag it? Then that's a red flag not double-waved yellows. Jesus they can't do anything right.

Just have a rule that, if any car is affected by any yellow flag during qualifying, their current lap won't count, end of. Removes any ambiguity or incentive for the driver to try to lift as little as possible - their lap is gone so they may as well slow right down, both for safety and to preserve their tyres.

Unsafe releases are always a driver penalty no? Imo a lot of the penalties are harsh on the driver but that's the way it's always been so not sure why there should be exceptions.

I imagine if it was Rosberg a lot of people would be calling for a penalty.

"Apologies for the slightly fruity language from Toto Wolff"

Didn't hear him say anything bad!
His opinion on this track limit stuff is spot on (imo) though. Build car destroying curbs if you don't want them to drive on them. Just let them drive fast.

Edit: Saturday. The most exciting part of the F1 weekend. :D

So Hamilton has used:
5 Turbo's
3 ICEs
4 Energy stores
4 Control electronics
5 MGU-H
3 MGU-K

May as well take 2 new engines and get the pain over and done with.

For some tracks it is, and the occasional epic qualifying does beat a good race. But Germany is a great track with plenty of places you can overtake and usually lots of passing. I don't want Hamilton to start near the back for any reason but him starting at the back here is always epic, 2014 was a ridiculously good race.
