German kitchen pricing

I think our kitchen was about 8-10k including range cooker, granite worktops and big Samsung american style fridge freezer.

I guess if you get a German one you'll be keeping it for a long time so there's that value aspect if you'll be taking it to your next house etc but won't that cause a ton of issues as the person buying your house will be a bit put out with buying a house without a kitchen?

I guess if you are removing your kitchen to take with you and you are prepared to wipe £30k -£40k off your asking price of your house (the price of buying and refitting an equivalent kitchen) because you removed the kitchen, fine. Culturally i am not sure that we are there yet.

If I viewed a house and the vendors / estate agent said that they were ripping the kitchen out and taking it with them I would not be happy (unless it was knackered) and would be looking for that reflected in the price.

I do not know anyone who has moved and taken their kitchen with them, in the past 40 years. It was more common back in the 60's and 70's as kitchens were less integrated.

Its a very German thing and they tend not to move so often, but build/extend family homes. Places are larger, better build quality. I'm generalising here but you get the idea.

To some people this will be expensive to others not, it all depends on your perspective! I will never understand the 50k range rovers parked on my street but to the owners they were clearly a good buy ( I live in a terraced street in the north before you start!)

One person's cheap is another person's expensive and if you look at the market you can literally spend anything from 2-3k to 100k on a kitchen!
