Please get a clueHopefully he'll go to prison for his cowardly act; very much doubt it though. Anyone else would be seeing bars with an assault that vicious.

The DJ sounds like a right **** although that's obviously how the defence want him to appear. It's quite the opposite of him running over and battering him for no reason as dm has stated happened time and time and time and time and time and time and time again.
Whatever the outcome if he did act like that he deserved a smack for acting like a **** just not the beating Gerrard's friends are meant to have given him afterwards.
As I've said before it's for the jury to decide based on all the facts. So not self-defence then?

Personally, I wouldn't call it self defence looking at the video or reading the statements but then that's all I'm going by.

You should be hit for talking so much crap tbh.

Gerrard is the captain of Liverpool FC, a club with a massive following, and he's going through court in Liverpool. You'd like to think justice will prevail.
I don't know. I don't think Gerrard should get any special treatment or be treated any harsher then a "normal" court case and ruling of this type. However, being the Liverpool captain, in Liverpool courts![]()

There's a massive difference between having a disagreement and being mouthy to someone who's drunk. You do that you're asking for it as far as I'm concerned.Well in Pigeon_Killer's world its ok to go around punching people if you don't like what they are saying.
I'm sure he won't mind getting sparked out if i or anyone else dooesn't agree with him.![]()

What would you consider an adequate punishment for someone that hasn't been in trouble since they were 19, does a lot of community work and is generally thought of in high regard?Personally if he does get off this charge with a rubbish punishment then id like to see him have the captaincy taken away from him...as i dont think someone like him can be considered a role model to millions of youngsters out there.
You mean like Ferdinand, Terry, Cole and god knows how many other England players have been dropped in the past? Also drop him for the England side...sure England might suffer from not having him in the side but means that someone else can step up and take his place.

A lot of people seem to be seeking the same type of punishment as a person that goes around doing this sort of thing daily and has a prison cell as his second home.

Just in case you think I'm a thug that goes around hitting people I don't.
Just a person who thinks drunken brawls are justified if one person is a **** in the opinion of the other person (and is there ever really a fight where that isn't the case?).There's a massive difference between having a disagreement and being mouthy to someone who's drunk. Just in case you think I'm a thug that goes around hitting people I don't. Nor do I mouth off to people when I'm drunk![]()
