hi there guys just wanted ur thoughts about this
thinking of buying an iphone not desperately needing 1 so can wait for
new model if its worth it....

was just wondering if u would buy the iphone 4 now or wait for a new
model which is probally around june july i have read in a lot of places although
no release date is actually given

thanks for ur time

If you're not desperate wait. They've come out every year in the summer so you know more or less when one's coming out. I'm on an 18 monther and got a 3GS for Christmas last year so let the iPhone 4 go by and will upgrade to the 5. However I'll try and fix my contract to a shorter one in order to upgrade every year, just because I'm a dork lol.

Get it now. Can easily sell the 4 on and buy a 5 outright if you got the itch without losing much. Plenty did with the same with their 3GS'.

I skipped the 4 and am planning to upgrade when they announce the new one this June. I think it would be worth your while to just wait.

Any major change will come with Apples new SoC, the question is... will they have it ready in time for iPad 2?
I hope so, if not we could just see a revised iPhone 4 (new band/antenna design + higher clocks, i.e. the hummingbird core is rated @ 1.2Ghz in Sammys Infuse)

Check out Motorolas Atrix to see the potential of these cortex A9 phones... (then imagine what Apple could do with its bigger/better software div ;))

They refresh models annually in June/July. I don't think the next version will be drastically different from the current 4g, just a refresh to fix the niggles. You should be able to get £300-400 back for a 4g around the time of the refresh.

That Verizon one isn't iPhone 5, it's just #4 on Verizon.

It seems a lot to spend when in 5/6 months a new version will be out. That's what I'm doing anyway, plus switched to sim only contract and should save about £100 in contract fees that I can put towards it.

Yep, same. The iPhone 4 just didn't cut it as being worth it for me. It's good, but it has its problems.

It's only half way through the cycle, the normal release date is June or July so if you want the phone, it's as good a time as any to get it.

I've got a 3GS coming to the end of the contract next month so am in the same boat. I've decided to get a cheap sim for the time being and will wait until the summer for the new model (or another manufacturer). I gather there are going be some significant hardware updates coming with dual-core chips being the in thing.
