Get your Wallets Ready - Steam Sale Dates this Winter

One of the few games I've played an hour of and quit, must just be me cos everyone else loves it. I'd say at 80% it is a good bet though
Its not just you ;)

I paid £2.70 for it last year in the 2012 xmas sale when Steam accidently put it up for 90% off but could not get into it never put in more than an hour could not stand playing anymore so deleted forever. IMO its a very poor GTA wannabe with very average gfx & tedious gameplay :(

So far

Bulletstorm
3D Mark
Speedrunners
Bioshock Infinite season pass (3.99)

Also non steam sale but aliens colonial marines from amazon for $1.99

I haven't bought anything yet. It's all a bit underwhelming, but I guess that's the price of living through sooooo many steam sales - I already bought it all last sale or the one before or the one before.

What I mean is - it's all the same old tat!

Me too. No impulse buys of stuff I'd likely not play anyway.

I ended up getting

the witcher 2
Hard reset
Stalker collection. Had shadows before, but couldn't remember why i stopped playing it. then i tried to play it and remembered, just crash after crash after crash haha

really? shadow of c was always relatively stable for me, across 2 different manchines. Clearsky was buggy as **** though.

Try the complete mods for the stalker series, gameplay isnt wildly affected but it looks nicer and they claim to have taken out a load of the bugs.

Is Sleeping Dogs worth it? 80% off is a pretty good bargain, but I have no idea if the games worth it or not.

Not everyone else loves it. I thought it was absolute garbage. And I only paid £5 for it.

The driving is terrible.

The combat is like Batman games so if you like them you'll at least like that aspect.

Overall, the game feels like it was either made by 13 year olds or targetted at them.

Ah cheers, I'll see about the mod. Yeah it just keeps crashing when i try to change the resolution.

lol. I really enjoyed that game. You are the first person I seen online say that.

Wish I was 13 :)

So far:

Monaco
Fez
Hard Reset
Assetto Corsa
The Secret World
3DMark
Medieval II Total War Collection

Assetto Corsa looks absolutely gorgeous, and is the racing game I've been waiting for...

Hard Reset
Deus Ex- Directors Cut
Red Faction Guerilla

Just got Red Faction because I got all the others back in the THQ bundle but it was missing this one.

We'll forget that I haven't installed or played any of them yet, 2 years after buying them

Is Assetto Corsa like Forza/Gran Turismo in the fact that you have a garage, every car you've bought or earned is in it with all the performance and cosmetic mods, color changes, liveries etc?

It's definitely a sim rather than simcade. You can change liveries and setup the car. There are also upgraded versions of some cars with performance packs or drift mods already applied.

There's no garage as such with all cars available for the beginning. There are an increasing number of (mostly very difficult) achievements.

They also, unusually for a sim, have a drag strip and a drift circuit.

If that sounds like it's up your street, then you won't be disappointed.

Indeed - but it's not as hardcore as some sims out there. You can play it as a simple track game or you can get more in depth re. car set ups etc.

I got GT Legends but the need to get into detail re. car set-ups put me off. Assetto Corsa seems to have struck just the right balance.
