Getting a tattoo

1) Yes I have two (well technically first one on arm, second one on arm which was designed in to the first one and one on leg) - Trible on arm, chinese dragon on right leg [..]

Trible...was that meant to be Tribal or Tribble? Quite a difference :)

Granted that's some epic artwork but do they really need it on there skin for life. I mean who would want an absolute douche like Conor McGregor on there arm? In 20yrs time people will be like "who the *** please do not swear or use alternate spellings for that particular word *** is that on your arm" ?
And would your girlfriend or wife want to look at a massive captain America face on your arm everytime she's near u? I doubt it.

I agree with this. What if you had Saville or Cosby on you from the eighties.

Never understood tattoos to be honest.

People say they are expressing their individuality but then nearly everyone seems to have them.

Then you get the idiots who have them everywhere including on their face and then whine about not being able to get a job

I think they look trashy and cheap, but each to their own :p

I cringe when I see neck, face or hand tattoos. Anything that can be covered is fine by me.

Exactly my thoughts. That's why I have a sleeve tattoo to the wrist.

Re: branding yourself - I had an accident and lots of scars which look ugly so these covered them up and make you look at something else. I had branded myself involuntarily.

Simple thing - design it how you want it. Come up with ideas. Leave it for one month and don't look at it. Come back to it and if you still really want it, do it. Personally I won't have names or teams - each one is unique to me as an individual hence the biomech sleeve incorporating where some of the metal is in my arm.

I have 5 small-ish tattoos, all in areas that are covered, that have some meaning to me.

I don't regret them but I'm at the stage in life where I don't want any more and some styles/sleeves are so common now that I only like the very well done ones, not the usual £50 from a mate trash I seem to see everywhere.

This.

They can sugar coat it as much as they want, they will be judged on the tattoo's they have plastered all over their body for the public to see. Doesn't matter if they are the nicest person in the world.

If they are not going to take their body image seriously then don't expect then corporate environment to do so either.

Learn to be less judgmental on how someone looks and instead judge them on how they are as a person.

Idiots come both with and without tattoos.

So you think these look like crap?

Clearly you just can't appreciate good art work.

But what's wrong with the original photo?

Why not commission the guy to reproduce the photo onto a piece of paper and hang it on your wall if you like it so much? Maybe you can carry a little one around in your wallet, so you can take it out and look at it. All the tattoo artist is doing is copying a photo, in my opinion this is not particularly creative.

Anyway, surely nobody likes the actor Chris Evans enough to have his face indelibly stained into their flesh, do they?

get whatever tattoo you want, it does not matter what others think, i have sleeves done and like them.
savile on one arm and rolf harris on the other.

I don't think ex-con or military when I see a tattoo these days.

I think hairdresser or CEX shop assistant.

Can you copy any photo in such detail on to paper? It's takes an awful lot of skill, and while copying it may not be creative, if an artist is any good they'll be able to design something from scratch.

I don't understand the mentality of people who don't like tattoo's arguing in a thread about tattoo's.

If someone wants one, let them do it. Good or bad it's their choice. You aren't going to change anyone's mind just like they won't change yours.

A) Pick the tattoo you want.
B) Print hundreds of copies of the tattoo.
C) Stick the copies up all over your house, on the stairs, in the bathroom, on your doors.
D) Leave them there for months.
E) After say 6 months decide if you still want that tattoo or not.

Pretty solid advice to be honest.

Myself and my missus have about 100+ hours of tattoos between us. We both love them all!

Each to their own but I think great tattoos look awesome.
