getting engaged... where to buy the ring

damm and blast she has well and trully trapped me..... well no she hasnt but i want to get engaged after 7 and a half years of living together its about time..

right does anyone know of a good " quality " jewlers in the london area.. i know hatton gardens is the preferd choice however i am looking to spend arround 1.5k and want to make sure im getting a good deal.. anyone able to suggest one?

I know a fab one in hatton garden I'll get the details for you, he makes them himself and my husband had mine made with him. He used to also have a shop near Roman Rd but shut it to concentrate on the other one. He makes gorgeous stuff he really does, my parents know him and my dad always gets my mum things made by him.

Always makes me balk at how much men spend on engagement rings. Especially considering the wedding is yet to come. An outdated tradition, I believe.

Well they last forever so it's worth it in my opinion. We didn't spend lots on our wedding through choice as I didn't see the point in spending thousands of pounds on one day, we had a small and intimate wedding and I loved it

I was also 34 weeks pregnant at the time though

Plenty of things last forever, and whilst you may keep an engagement ring, you don't stay engaged for ever do you? The whole month/month&half/two month's salary is a stupid thing as well.

Each to their own. You wear an engagement ring forever. Cliff spent a fair bit on this ring but I do love it and it's valued at twice what he bought it for too because it was handmade it would cost that to buy something similar if anything happened to it.

Have you had a look at the link I posted? It's worth giving him a ring to see what he can do for you. Tell him your budget and he'll do something suitable.
