Getting into Airsoft?

Anything by Tokyo Marui would be a good bet. AK's, M16's and MP5's are usually a popular choice for newbies. An AK would be better really as it has 600 round highcaps, whereas the M16's have 300, and the MP5's a measly 200.

Cueball, this isn't a bash airsoft thread. He's asking how to get started in the hobby/sport. Who cares if you think its silly, I think people standing on train stations watching the trains are silly, but if they enjoy it let them get on with it.

Dont forget the good on G36 which is a nice rifle.

Do not buy any guns that run on CO2 if you do you will not be able to use them at any skirmish site due to the FPS the gun runs at.

Dont get a FAMAS youll get laughed at :)

But all good links posted above, have a read, go to a site hire a gun and see where you go.

So, is 'airsoft' the new shooting sport for younger people? I know when I was young my dad taught me how to shoot on a .22LR rifle. I guess the reletively safe airsoft weapons are more appealing to today's generation?

Anyway, I personally just don't see the point in using a fake/replica rifle that is made to look like the real thing yet... isn't. I once wanted to play 'soldiers', so I joined the army. Ho hum.

Airsoft inst that new, and learning to shoot a .22 rifle is slightly diferent that shooting people with one :/

I'm sure if you took a few 500fps sniper shots you wouldnt think it was so stupid :p Airsoft is a sport and isnt just standing there shooting a static target.

Edit: Shotgun_Ned, skully what you think of the KWC MK1 Ruger, just for a cheap NBB (powerful too).

Ive got the CA M4A1 and its great, it has a tad more power than the TM and is full steel. Feels quality and has no barrel wobble or any flex at all. The semi auto sounds a bit wierd but who fires in semi auto when u have full auto :D .

People with ammo limits?

;)

Forget a NBB pistol, they're gay.

Get a GBB. Won't regret it.

Also, TMP is a horrible choice for a beginner gun.

Also cheaper, more powerful and less prone to breaking :/

The other option is a Glock G23 GBB for £60 with a metal slide.

because if you have a guy standing fairly close to you, unleashing a hail of BBs can be rather painful and is rather silly. 1 shot will do the trick.

Hence why i said for Comedy value. Also, all TMPs come with the ability to get "Magic Headshot of Doom" because it shoots all over the shop.
