Getting low fps...

Thats very unlikely. The quality of connection would matter though, hence why I asked about single player.

How much does it score on 3dmark05

i dont think its a connection problem because im on a 8mb line with aol.

anywho , downloaded 3dmark 05 and scored 11183 3DMarks and 5145 CPUMarks

which is at the higher end of the scale.

I cant remember what the exact reason was, but wasn't there something why you could only go to a 8800 GTS? Cant for the life of me remember the reason now!

Never had an issue with my GTS under performing, always maxed out BF2 at 100 fps @1680 x 1050 (single card). Even the 320mb one would have done at the same res, let alone 1440.

what do you mean ? yeh i didnt think i could run a 8800gt so i got a 8800gts > is that what you mean?

maybe its a cpu issue. i mean its a fairly low end cpu. well ill just have to wait and see when i upgrade cpu one day.

Gone through your old threads, found this:

I would strongly recommend NOT to attempt to run a GTS with that board. The PCIe slot often runs at 8x speeds and will the card will be gasping for bandwidth and you will get graphical corruption and freezes. Also the Chipset isnt strictly 100% compatible with PCIe standards, its just an add on by the MB manufacturers as far as im aware. i'd get a cheap Intel 965 if your on a tight budget.

I tried a 7950GX2 in a machine with the same chipset and had massive issues. The 8600GT is a VERY poor card and low bandwidth, the 8800GTS is FAR more powerful and spending £150 on a gfx card on a system with a £30 MB is asking for trouble.

Just to recap, i'm 99% certain that this combination of card/motherboard will give you no end of trouble.
