I've finally taken the plunge and ordered myself a 120GB Corsair Force 3 from Overclockers. I'm not very knowledgeable about SSDs though, are there any things I should be aware of whilst installing and setting up the drive?

I plan to use it as my primary drive, installing a fresh copy of Windows 7 on it.

Ive asked this question before and ppl said plug only the ssd, boot to bios and set sata mode to ahci, install win7, add in extra drives

make sure defrag is disabled, check if trim is enabled

Command prompt > fsutil behavior query disabledeletenotify

DisableDeleteNotify = 1 (Windows TRIM commands are disabled)
DisableDeleteNotify = 0 (Windows TRIM commands are enabled)

Thanks for the help, I followed that guide and it seems to have gone ok.

I've got one slight annoyance though, after plugging my old hard drive back in it shows a 'System Reserved' D drive that I can't seem to get rid of.

I'm guessing it's to do with my previous OS install on the hard drive, any idea how I get rid of it?

Go into Disk Management and right click on E: volume and delete volume, then repeat for the D: volume.

Create new simple volume using all the space calling it D:

Change the drive letter on the DVD from F: to E: - optional

Got a question about the SSD guide. I'm doing as it says and moving My Documents etc to my second hard drive.

However will this cause complications for any games or other software that stores saves and stuff in those folders?
