I'm really unhappy with the performance of my iphone 4 on O2

I'm in month 7 of 18 on a 45PM contract.

Any ideas? - Selling my phone on ebay wont recoup the contact price.

Phone crashing, low signal, wifi interruption, momentary pauses.

Have you updated to the latest firmware...4.2??.

Also try wiping the phone clean then restore from a backup or just wipe and start new.

If that doesnt help then only thing you can do is to take it to an apple store and get them to look at it...they will probably replace it if its found to be faulty.

Other than the only thing you can do is to pay off the remainder of your contract or reduce it every month then pay it off. They wont just cancel it like that as you have had it 7 mths now.

I believe the pausing is a bug in the current firmware. Expect it fixed in 4.3, rumoured to be this month. I have this issue too.

As for crashing, I've had every iPhone released over the last few years and neither has crashed once. Apps have, but not the phone. If you have a problem Apple will run some diagnostic checks and help you. Book an appointment through their site.

If there are faults found, they will replace.

All updated and re wiped.

its a first batch :(

I got one of the 1st batches of the iPhone 4 , mines a week 22 , and mines been all fine.

Yeah wipe it and input all your data back in manually , with restoring the phone with a backup.

Well to say that I think my 4 crashed last week; was using an RSS reader (which seems to randomly crash) but this time the phone crashed as it dropped to the apple booting screen before bring up my keylock screen. Only happened the once mind...

why would a faulty phone mean you could get your contract cancelled ? your contract is for the minutes/texts/data that i assume o2 are providing to you without trouble

take the phone back for a working replacement or sell it and replace with another phone

+1 thats right , if you change your phone to another smartphone which isnt an iphone , make sure you change your data bolt-on to suit.

You would have the settle the remainder of your line rental in order to get out of the contract.

I for one can't stand these s**** new tariffs that the networks are trying to get people on, most of which are two year contracts!

My O2 3GS contract is up in February, will keep the phone and get a sim only deal and maybe buy and iphone 5 outright in June/July.

whats the difference ? i was on android and am using the same sim(cut down) contract and data settings in my iphone

I'm in a similar predicament .. o2 sucks for the iPhone, way overloaded and poor signal where I live and even in major towns. I've got a Three SIM in my iPad and I'm very impressed so will no doubt go onto a 1 month rolling contract with them when mine is up in a few months - the money I save each month will go towards buying the next iPhone handset outright :)

O2 sucks because of the iPhone. When they had exclusivity everyone who wanted an iPhone had to go to O2. Their data network deteriorated so much that I moved to TMobile (I have Android).

Well you should have done your research on mobile service providers in your area before taking a contract out tbh...

I wish people would stop saying this sort of stuff. Just because you take a contract out it doesn't mean the service will degrade over time.

It's not fair that a service is degraded and then your still paying for a service that doesn't properly go on like it did day 1. Customers should have the right.

I agree, my service has degraded where I used to get full 3g signal now i dont. No stuck with this contract till September.

Well the phone is used for work purposes and my number is well used. its a full bang and whistles contract unlimited everything i pay about £45p/m (it isnt a iphone contract plan, got a new phone but liked my 3gs more lol).

I called o2 about it and they offered me compensation, which my reply was ill take it but what use is it to me if I cant use my phone he way I used too?
