Getting over a break up?

lol arguing again, time to put phone on silent and go out on the lash :)

I just got out of one of them relationships in january which lasted over a year..

I constantly felt like breaking up with her, but she would cry and use girl manipulation techniques!

Just cut 100% contact soon for a good week, then maybe allow a miniature talk then cut it properly for like a month! :)

goldilocks what I meant was clear from the start if it was read with any shred of common sense... that you can't apply any doesn't somehow make it difficult. Do you really think from the wording that I meant not to give any partner ANY money whatsoever, whether it be a tenner or paying for a meal out? If so LOL, goodness grief. I think i'll pass on having my post written for me by someone who seems confounded by little things like capital letters, punctuation, and grammar. :p:D

it's at least a bit comforting that it's not just me you're a total **** to. You said DON'T GIVE YOUR PARTNER MONEY (you even capitalised it) so it seems that you were trying to say DON'T GIVE YOUR PARTNER MONEY. Uppercasing it implies that you want it to be taken literally, wouldn't you say?

And, dude, you being condescending about people's punctuation and grammar is just a joke. You have some of the worst grammar and punctuation I've witnessed on this forum.

I repeat, if you thought from my post that I actually meant not to give a partner a single penny, and that I was talking about anything other than significant amounts of money (ie: amounts that really matter)... then you must have zero common sense. But then from your posts I see you are a bit touch and go in that particular area. Do you really think I meant that I wouldn't buy drinks, lend a tenner, or buy a meal for a partner? Everyday regular occurrences that anyone would deem normal and healthy? No, of course not... but then if you couldn't interpret everything in it's most basic and literal sense you'd have little to moan about wouldn't you?

As for my spelling and grammar being "some of the worst you've ever seen" I mean seriously come on... get a grip fella, it's nothing of the sort. Typing at speed I make typos and mistakes like anyone else, and sometimes I don't pick up on them and edit them out, but in general it's pretty decent and I do make an effort.

It actually pleases me that I unwittingly wind you up so much enough that you actively seek me out, and I hope it results in many more knee-jerk, over the top posts from you... they always make me smile, as with each unprovoked snipe and attack you make, the more I chuckle to myself! It's personal with you, and I kind of like that. :D

She apologised profusely and i'm seeing her up pub in a bit for a little before i hit the town. Reason this goes in circles is for the next 2 weeks, she'll be as good as gold and i dunno, when someone apologises and changes, i just cant help but forgive them. I'm too laid back, i need to be a mean mofo.

Veg3tto what would she actually do if you did split with her properly... has she got bunny boiler/random psychotic acts potential?

no, I think a reasonable person would and should get the drinks in and stuff, but that's not how your post read to me and I can see how others would have taken it at face value. It's not really a case of a lack of common sense, excellent conclusion-jumping there, though.

One thing I do notice about your posts is that you do make a lot of grammatical and punctuation mistakes. I don't point them out because it's a petty bit of one-upmanship that I refuse to indulge, but when you go calling other people's into question it seems like some of that delicious hypocrisy that you accuse me of so frequently.

It actually pleases me that I unwittingly wind you up so much enough that you actively seek me out, and I hope it results in many more knee-jerk, over the top posts from you... they always make me smile, as with each unprovoked snipe and attack you make, the more I chuckle to myself! I read a lot of threads, you post in a lot of threads, your post:BS ratio is frighteningly high. If I'm bored, I'll throw a post or 7 your way. That last paragraph does make me wonder what you think when you read my posts aimed at you, though. I have a brilliant image of you thinking I'm one of those "right to reply" type people who get all hot under the collar and so physically angry that they can't not complain about the pettiest thing. Quite the opposite is true, in fact; the truth is that I have a short attention span and it's fun to pick out faults and things that annoy me in other people (it's true, ask Squiff). Seeing as I'm always guaranteed a rise that illustrates both your faults and things that annoy me about you out of you, it makes life much easier for me. I guess if your pride in your ignorance and idiocy is that strong, you have every right to be flattered.

Oddly enough, this one time I wasn't aiming for one of these debates - I was simply pointing out that I inferred the same from your post as others did (the caps helped). Predictably, you did the rest, and conveniently I just finished some work and I've got some time to kill.

Ahh Sic... yes my image of you is somewhat humorous (especially seeing as I can put a face to it), but then again you do nothing to dispel it, considering the majority of the posts i've ever noticed from you are indeed complaining about the most mind-numbingly petty things. You think you're illustrating my faults, yet all you're doing is making me laugh... I honestly can't take you in the slightest bit seriously. I'd love you to find me all these examples of the complete "BS" that you're so convinced the majority of my posts consist of so I can see all the things that cause you such uproar (seriously, find me some examples if you want to actually back up your statements, there must be an absolute ton if you're anything to go by. BS classifies as intentional lies, inaccuracies, exaggerations etc by the way just so we're clear). But then again taking into account that you're exaggerating out of your eyeballs (knee-jerk melodrama seems to be a passion of yours) you're probably guilty of just as many as me. That you fail to realise your own faults while continuing this little crusade of rants is something I don't think is going to grow old any time soon. As I said, keep it coming. ;)

The only advice for this kind of situation is this:

Sell everything
Leave your job
Buy a motorbike - KTM 640 Adv or BMW 1200GS kind of bike
Travel the world

Your welcome ;)

some of you guys have been pretty unlucky with your choice of girlfriends!
as for being 'too laid back' to split up with your partner, a half arsed relationship with no real feelings isn't going to be of benefit to either of you.
and those of you waiting for the 'right time' to dump her - there is NEVER a right time. if the boot was on the other foot - what would you rather happen, quick and painful, or long, lingering, drawn-out and excruciating?

Have to agree with this. Think how you'd feel. Would you rather that the love of your life finished with you as soon as they knew it was over or would you rather that they waited (and possibly started carrying on with someone else whilst they were at it) for the "right time", which could be weeks or months down the line. If you want to finish it with someone, have the balls to do it so they can get on with their lives.

I finished with my ex the day before his birthday. Harsh, I know but it was just plain bad timing and I had the choice of doing it then or playing along/pretending for a few days and then being accused of stringing him along.

Agree 100% with all of that, it's a shame some people seem to think it's more hassle to break up with someone than it is to be in a crap relationship. The longer you stay with someone the more your lives become intertwined and the harder it will be to seperate. Break-ups should always be done as early as possible once you're sure it's the right path, not left to drag on... I learned that the hard way in my last relationship

Hey Warren,

Sorry to hear about what happened to you, but a great phrase someone told me is "see it as an opportunity" every time something goes wrong repeat this saying to yourself i know it sounds stupid but hey.. your single now lets focus fully on those positives and take your life forward.

Good Luck
Liam

nah, I classify BS as mind-numbing rubbish in this context. Like I said, the only time I dedicate to you is when I've got 5 minutes, if you think I'm indulging you enough to reread your posts to prove a point to you, you're gravely mistaken. I'm comfortable with being a hypocrite in our eyes and I shan't even bother to ask for examples of me complaining as I'm sure it'll be met with the same apathy.

As I said before, I had no intention of my input in this thread descending to the petty squabbles that it has. I merely came to point out (for the third time for those keeping score) that your post could, indeed, be misconstrued in the way it was and, although your implications may not have been as such, your audience are entitled to question them based on their inference. Why did that get your back up so much, I wonder?

I guess what this boils down to is that we're both equally egotistical and enjoy to bicker with someone we see as either comical or an idiot. Hell, it's one of the reasons I frequent this forum in the first place! And as for realising my own faults, of course I realise them, but pointing them out to you seems a little redundant, given the context of most of our "meetings", wouldn't you say?

If the primary reason you frequent a forum is to "point out idiots" then it appears we are in no way similar, and my apathy only increases as I now realise that you actually like these petty squabbles, which I find quite frankly more than a little sad. This is my last post on the matter as far as i'm concerned Sic, though i'm sure this same scanario will no doubt re-occurr again with a slightly different twist as soon as you get another "spare 5 minutes" (lol) and the large vein in your forehead starts to throw anew, causing the I imagine by this stage near involuntary knee-jerk posts we are starting to become accustomed to. Enjoy the rest of your weekend champ. ;)

as long as it's telling her that you think she's been unfair and you have no intention of taking her back, then you're all good ;)

I don't mean to sound blaise, but you just have to bear in mind that it takes two to tango. Simple-sounding but there it is, and it actually took me a while to get my head round it despite it being so blindingly obvious now.

If she doesn't want you then you don't want her, i.e. you should never want to be with someone who doesn't want to be with you. When the party's over, go home and look forward to the next one.

I use to get that too, we would be amazing together for 2 weeks or so and then it would go downhill into tears over a couples of days, I would say enough is enough and then we would meet she would say sorry or cry or go on about how goo we are and I would give things another chance... :(

Maybe you should see if things will last? trial being together or something? Maybe even talk to each other about the problems you do have and solve them!

shag her for a while ;) and if your sure in your mind your wasting your time, let yourselves fall out if that's what going to happen, let enough be enough and actually leave her!

Cut the contact! and if you do see/speak to her make your intentions clear and ensure she knows your not taking her back!

Well i got the truth out of her,

That there was someone else that she liked, and had gone behind my back to see.

So screw her. Can't be dealing with that.
