Getting scammed on eBay?

Yeah, get your bank details off PayPal ASAP. PayPal tried to chase me for a couple of hundred pound once after a scammer. They can't mess up your credit file as it isn't a credit agreement.

"You cannot remove your credit card while your account has a negative balance. To increase your balance, please add funds."

Not going to lie if i was in your shoes selling, i'd probably of done the same thing.

good luck getting money back etc mate, i recently sold a mbaord and some other componants on ebay. if that ahd ahppened to me i'd be gutted, i've learnt something from this thread so ty for sharing.

Contact him and tell him if he doesn't give you the money then you will get the phone IMEI banned. That should do it. Report the phone lost/stolen.....

Thing is he's probably used a stolen credit card to buy the phone, then sold the phone on for cash, so he probably wouldn't care

We were recently notified that one of your buyers filed a chargeback. This
simply means they asked their credit card issuer to reverse a payment made
to you purchased on 1 Oct 2012.

The buyer claims that this purchase was made without their authorisation to
use the credit card. Their credit card issuer needs additional information
from you about this transaction to help resolve this.

That would take about 3 seconds to fix..

report your card as stolen now so Paypal can't shaft you, because they will. They always side with the buyer even with blindingly obvious truth!

No point in reporting cards stolen, I can't even remove my bank details whilst the balance is still in the negative

They cant take money out your bank unless they use a debit card, which you can cancel, or direct debit, which again you can cancel.

But deffo cancel that credit card.

I also used the reasoning that it's an awful long time for the chargeback to be issued. People that don't check their credit card statements for periods of time such as the above are silly imo.
