The other day I made the big decision, and booked an appointment at the local hair dressers.

I've had long hair for about 5 years now, and have decided enough is enough, time to get a proper hair cut.
Will be getting several inches lopped of, no doubt it will still be seen as 'long' from the perspective of many, but compared to my current chin length fringe, it will be a big jump.

Who else as made the transformation from long haired youth into respectable citizen?

My hair is just past my ears. Getting really annoying now but I just can't imagine myself with a forehead again!

Just recently (about a month ago now) i had my hair cut from Über-long to very short.

when i say long, i mean long. it went down to my shoulders. still, not the longest hair i've ever had, i had hair down to my elbows when i was in secondary school at one point.

(btw, this is me in Israel. in a jumper and fleece-beanie. i am a cold person!)

I remember my sister's friend who had long hair down to about his shoulders got his hair cut reletively short and he looked a lot better in my opinion. Before pictures now would be nice :D.

Longest I had was middle of shoulder blades. How did you find the transition?

Also reading your sig, whats wrong with Coventry? (Be specific :p )

About 13 years ago I went from chin to shoulder length hair down to a number 3.

I'm now on a number 1. Would go shorter but it's a minor issue if I let it go any shorter for my job.

Length I liked it most

Coventry is cold, concrete and full of drunken students with less brains than an ostrich :D :p

The transition is/was rather unpleasant. you get used to the hair keeping your neck nice and warm, and when it's gone you feel the draughts on your neck all the time - most distracting.

i've just about gotten used to having it short again but depending on where i manage to get a job i might end up growing it out again, which the GF would definitely appreciate.
