Getting the Tube into London

You could drive to Ebsfleet, Kent (about 10mins off M25 on the A2) then get a fast train to Stratford.. The O2 is a docklands light railway trip from there.
Would save you actually coming into London

Why would you get the DLR when the jubilee line stops right outside the O2  If you catch the DLR you would also have to catch a bus too!

The OP needs the connection from Stratford International to Stratford Regional remember, unless he walks through Westfield.

Thing to remember though is that every borough has its own parking rules. Slime mentioned above that it's free in Camden, however I'm not far from there at all in Islington and you would have a hard time parking anywhere at anytime without a permit. Most people seem to have a disabled badge!

I reckon you are best just getting one of the furthest out tube stations you possibly can.

I’m driving to London from the North soon and have a hotel booked in Covent Garden for 4 nights, anyone know of any cheap but secure places I can park for duration of my stay and get the tube into the centre ?

From the north I'd park near Cockfosters station on the Picadilly line.

I used to live not too far from there, it's not a bad area, if you park on the residential streets around there sure you car would be fine, any of those streets off the west side off the main road, unless there are parking restrictions (I wouldn't have thoughts so) and just walk back a bit to the station.

Personally I wouldn't park in a station car park, I always think your car is more likely to get targeted there than parked outside someone's house.

Chorleywood Station car park. Its a small affluent town so your car should be alright. Looks pretty cheap online (£5.50 a day through the week and £2.50 on weekends). 25 mins from Marylebone on the mainline (also in tfl zones so ticket price is reasonable) and a few junctions down from the m1/m25 junction assuming you're coming from there
