hehe id just replace the gfx card and ssd
tho the speed of new cpu will help u a bit in games
920 is too good to throw away, deserves to be used for something ><

I know what you mean the cpu has never let me down yet but it seems the bloody computer is cursed when it comes to graphic cards.

I duno if its the PSU causing them to blow every year or what and i don't even clock the cards.

it might be, tho it could be the mobo too, or just bad luck
if you can afford it mebe just build a new for gaming and keep the 920 for work or media or something, put a super cheap passive gfx in it

Yeah i plan to keep the parts. Ok time to decide which one of the specs to go for.. will there be any advance requirements need doing in the mobo settings when installing the cpu and gfx after?

And also is it possible to use my hdd since it has win7 on it? or is it worth buying a new hdd and a ssd with a brand new copy of win7s since my copy can only use on 3 computers.

duno what advanced settings you worried about, bios updates?

cheap ssd i guess(depends budget), use same copy of windows

like compatability issues pluging the new gen graphic card in a 3.0 pcie slot. As for ssd how do these things install? i mean hdd you just plug them in and set raid mode in bios

some mobos need bios updates, so you just plug the screen into the onboard while you do that, the one i put in spec is new out so be suprised if it needs them before install
still has a ton of updates tho

ssd, ahci in bios and install like normal, windows does the rest

Leave the HDD unplugged (your current ones will be fine) until you've installed windows on the SSD. You should be fine using your current copy of windows 7.

no you change it before installing windows on the ssd
then just add the storage drives later after its all setup

Ah right,

So ok this is the list

Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz
EVGA GeForce GTX 680 SC Signature TWO 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
MSI Z77 MPower Intel Z77
Crucial RealSSD M4 128GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive
PC Power & Cooling Silencer Mk III Series 600W '80 Plus Bronze' Modular Power Supply
GeIL Black Dragon 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit

I believe that is it, Will use my current hdd and the cpu cooler, Any tips and points when putting this together? will be my first time assembling a computer only thing i did in past was upgrade parts ie ram, gfx. Will i need to buy thermal paste?

From what i read the PSU is decent and im sure 600w is enough compared to my overkill 1300...

And for the updating the motherboard is it the bios or the chipset? and i update it after i installed windows correct?

yeh
the stock cooler has paste on it but to re-use ur old you will need buy some
im not sure if that cooler fits 1155 without a new bracket? no idea

i think its maybe for the best with the psu, atleast you are for sure not carrying any problems with you
