GG and the art of gamesmanship.

Without a doubt the worst community of any game is CoD. I think we can all agree on that. When I play (not often nowadays) I just mute everyone as soon as i join a lobby. That doesn't stop the frequent "hacker" "noob" "camper" etc etc PMs I get. Meh. It saddens me that this is how people choose to behave. The problem is that these idiots outnumber the mature people, so it seems to them that this is the normal way to behave.

Sorry but no. DotA/LoL/HoN takes the biscuit for in-game abuse and general community mean-spiritedness.

Having played both LoL and CoD I'd disagree, but obiously it depends on personal experience. I play LoL with 2 friends on my team, while I play CoD alone, so I guess that would make quite a difference.

Try playing any of the MOBA's alone and see what happens :D

A lot of it has to do with the fact that bad or inexperienced players in MOBAs negatively feed the other team in a big way, whereas in FPS games a bad player is certainly deadweight but isn't necessarily handing the other team a victory on a plate. Thus a bad or new player in MOBA's will very often be chat-abused or given a bad-mannered reception. The fact that most MOBA players' have the reaction of "oh, learn to play then" just glosses over the fact that the games are a hell of bad-manners and rudeness to all newcomers.

Another reason why bf3 sucks, Just no community in the game, the only text i see is bitching about cheating and hackers and thats about it. Nothing like the days of a good cs server.

Yeah, some people in LoL are pretty bad. Games seem to come in clumps of 3-4 where I'll be stuck with idiots. Then there'll be a few games where everyone's nice. I think it is definitely to do with feeding the enemies. People don't know how to give constructive advice, I've had a wake up call playing with some members of this forum that shows I'm actually not as good as I thought, but I've always rather given advice than start yelling at people.

Yeah, but the same's true of CoD. I admit it's been hard not to BM when I am on a team with two split-screeners who lose my team the game, despite me going 44-1 and getting a MOAB (yes this did actually happen to me). Times like that I just try to keep my mouth shut and say nothing.
