Ghostbusters pc = no multiplayer

Sony who delayed the release on purpose.

That's simply not true. The game was delayed on all other platforms in the EU as Atari have ceased publishing games in the EU. They've handed the rights over to another publisher (forget which) but because of the changeover the game is delayed here for a while. Seeing this happening Sony stepped in and published the game in the EU for the PS3 in order to make sure the game release coincided with the bluray release globally.

They didn't 'delay the release', they simply brought the EU PS3 release forward by publishing the game themselves.

[EDIT] Just to add: Atari sold all publishing rights in the EU to Namco Bandai apparently, thus causing said changeover delay

I thought the game had online co-op ? Surely that would be a big sales point for the PC release ? If this is true then jeez, epic fail considerably. Although i did remember them showing off some fancy PC PhysX stuff in a video before, i couldnt imagine them putting that extra effort into the PC release then completely crapping all over it by taking out multi.

Anyone know the reason why there's no p[irate/chip/firmware etc stuff for the ps3? has sony finnaly achieved ultimate copy protection or something?

I very much doubt it's uncrackable, i imagine it's mainly to do with the fact that they've used a new and, until recently, very expensive medium for their games.

yeah i know it;s been cracked (happened in first week iirc). I guess iot is just the price of the disks that keeps it being unfeasible.

I didn't think the whole OS had been cracked, just that someone had figured out how to decrypt it.

I ment the Blu ray protection sorry, iirc though the whole ps3 firm ware is updated no just parts so you have to crack it all over every time theres an update or something strange like that.

Aye, just been reading around and bluray has been cracked which i thought meant naughty games were possible, but it doesn't. However as you say its the firmware updates that are the issue. This isn't a problem in the 360 as its not actually the console firmware that is exploited, it's something else (i won't go into details for obvious reasons) so updating the firmware doesn't 'break' the part thats been exploited.

Anyways, probably getting dangerously close to going into too much detail so should prob leave it there :)

Thanks for putting me straight Streeteh.

I still hate Sony though ;o)

That's fair enough, plenty to get annoyed at em for other than that tbh. The whole 'sony delayed ghostbusters!' statement has been said so many times in the console section i've gotten tired of it. Sorry if i seemed like i was jumping down your throat, just wanted to nip it in the bud as it were before it became the common belief over here too :p

Why would it be a bad port just because it lacks MP and DLC? these features have nothing to do with the performance itself.

No, not at all.

If I am wrong, I have no problem putting my hands in the air and being put right.

To be honest, it was a conclusion I had jumped to myself without the help of the Console forum :) Just read a few bits here and there and before you know it, 1+1 = 5 and all that.

Confirmed by ign in the pc review, no multiplayer whatsoever for the pc version.

Should those complaints turn you of to Ghostbusters? Well, over on the PS3/360 review, I said "no," but that was in part because the game actually had a deep multuiplayer mode filled with challenges for you and your friends to tackle together while individually trying to grab as much cash as you could by trapping ghosts and destroying portals. Sadly, the six multiplayer matches, twenty levels of Ghostbuster ranks, and twelve maps are nowhere to be found in the PC version of this game. That knocks some of the steam out of this $30 title.

http://uk.pc.ign.com/articles/994/994541p1.html (quotes on page 3) (8 hours of gameplay for the sp)

Gonna be interesting to see what the developer manages to grab out of the bag of "bs excuses". Wonder what it feels like knowing that you knobbled your own game and knowing that it will now be download central on this game?

Comes out in US today and EU in 6 months. Terminal Reality even said that they have no control over the release as Atari had all legal rights to publish but TR said its finished on all platforms and they would have preferred it come out at the same time.

Hmm let me guess how many copies they sell in 6 months...........

Unless they implement multiplayer then I really hope this game gets absolutely destroyed on the webternetz.
I don't want it on the 360 as mine sounds like a hoover, and I will not be buying it on PC now there's no multiplayer. :(
There can't be a real reason other than laziness to remove online multiplayer from the platform that started it...

Wont be buying this game out of spite. Bunch of gits take out what would have been an awesome multiplayer what a farce. This game will be ripped and up before it hits the shelf :D

It just seems so backwards though, there was genuine excitement for this game. What sort of crazed business decision is it, to remove one of the things that would guarantee sales?
All they do in the process is **** people off and lower their reputation.
This thread is all the evidence required to see that it's a bad choice.

Well, despite all of this ****, I still want the game so have found a nice Canadian to gift me the game on STEAM, £19 :)

For an OK Single player campaign and a nostalgia trip, the price is good to me.
