Ghostbusters Reboot

Now that metacritic has opened to the public, they've hammered the film. I wonder how the professional reviewers can have such a different opinion of the film. Not that 60 percent is stellar from the professional reviewers, but there's a disconnect when the public rating is 2.4 out of 10.

They want to keep writing 'professional' reviews.

It's made over 20 million more than its production budget so far, but that's not taking into account the marketing which was alleged to be over 200million. Feig has said something along the movie needing to take in around 400 million for a sequel to be on the cards.

General rule of thumb; reported budget x 2, everything after that tends to be actual money made.

They need to make around $400 million to break even, some have reported $500 million but I doubt it's that high.

Sales will continue to slow from this point on so they're going to struggle.

Which is a shame, if they took it seriously and respected the brand and the fans this could have been an easy win for Sony.

Nothing wrong with the all women twist but when you lack a story, when your leads have zero charisma and when the jokes fall flat, where is the fun suppossed to come from?
This was huge missed opportunity.

Probably the main funny part about this movie, they have money to build proton packs, traps, etc, yet somehow don;t have enough for a car. Its not even mentioned where the money came from to build their equipment, they just suddenly have it. That was addressed in the original at least, apparently in this they have enough money to get nuclear material for the proton packs but an old station-wagon to cart it all around in is pushing the boat out. :p

Lot of news articles saying it's unlikely to have a sequel as it's rumoured to be losing around 70 million, some good news at last :D
