I still can't see these on Creative's own website - can somebody help? :(

I'm not sure if they will ever be on creatives website as Auzentech is one of there competition. Creative have just sold the X-Fi technology to auzentech.

Ahh I didn't know that. Interesting that they sold it on - would they have developed something much better which is in the pipeline?

X-Fi chip and moddified creative drivers but I think the rest of the card is totally different. Its not technically a creative product.

A good way to look at it is when a car manufacturer sells its engine to another!!

Creative may have a new card in the works but I would have thought we would have heard about it now.

Anyway if the auzentech card and moddified drivers are better then I'm jumping ship as creative's vista support has been shocking.

I havent seen any proper reviews from the usual sources yet so not even sure if they have review samples made yet? Anyone know of a review up? Most of it so far seems to be speculation and guess work/looking at the release shots of the card etc.

If posting a review be careful with the usual ocuk rules about competitors etc, if the site has links to shops it might be just better to mention the review site so we can go find it ourselves.

Is this thing going to suffer from the same Vista64 problems as the Creative X-fi's? I'm just about ready to swap for an Auzentech X-plosion or Meridian from an X-fi Extreme Music because I get nothing but static or dead air.

Prelude is gonna be interesting, but the whole reason I'm not using my current XFI card is because of the drivers... I've read around, and it seems the card basically becomes totally broken when using more than 3gb of RAM in your PC. No good for me since I recently built a new PC with more than that.

So, I'm waiting to see how the Asus Xonar turns out, as that's looking like a damn good alternative... but again, need to see what the software is like for it. Be as much use as a chocolate teapot otherwise.

Estimated Release Date

The estimated release date for the Auzen X-Fi Prelude 7.1 is shown below. The estimate is based on projected parts availability, production schedules, and in-depth testing that goes far beyond the tests described on audiophile websites.

Current Estimate

Projected Release date: Within days
Date of estimate: August 2, 2007
More info: With production underway, shipping is imminent.

They should be avaliable very soon then

Can you explain that more please?

There's a bug in the current drivers whereby if you have 4GB of RAM installed you lose all EAX functionality and hardware acceleration too. Remove some RAM, and the card works fine again. I've also read about people getting no audio and just static due to this issue.

Also, I have to agree with james.miller... I'm a gamer, yet would happily lose EAX for improved sound quality.
