Gibbo - Any update on when Preludes hit retail?

I'm seriously considering getting the Prelude due to the catastrophic driver support in Vista, however, i'm more interested in knowing how I can set this up to get 5.1 when using a bluray drive, does the soundcard encode all the stuff itself and send it out through the speakers?

due, i believe, to vista DRM nonsense, dont expect to get 5.1 over optical at all for blurays or hd-dvd's. i konw i coudlnt do it with either my xfi gamer or my realtek onboard.

if you want a decent multi channel output from HD video, stick to using analogue

Think it depends on what your speakers are or what cables are supplied.

I'm hooked up in (FRONT) with (CENTER S.WOOFER). Which gives me 5.1 with the Creative Inspire 5700 speakers.

Which would seem odd, as you would think it should be connected Back Surround with Center and Sub. Which I get no sound when hooked up via back surround.
