** GIBBO TAKES A 980 G1 FOR A RIDE AND OcUK HAS EXCLUSIVE ON 980 G1 **

I would only get an Asus card from OCUK. Their customer service is awful, terrible attitude and expect long turnover times. They really are not good with non-USA territories. Nevertheless, OCUK will deal with the warranty and help speed it all up, I hope!

Yes Asus give us fantastic warranty support, so simply RMA Asus with OcUK and you have no issue. :)

Gibbo, what would you say is the best 970 is terms of build quality?

None of them are bad.

Gigabyte G1 has the best PCB and power design by miles, cooler is OK but I'd say the Asus Strix cooler is the highest quality even though the Gigabyte has more cooling power.

Hoping my 970 Ultra X4 will be here soon as this is the one which could actually beat them all as its a piece of art though its insanely big, but it is called the "AIR BOSS" :D

Risky over reference imo a few more weeks and reference will be £399.99. G1 is nice and all but reference is still on the heels of that card and we still havent been shown the card that actually gets 1fps more than the 780Ti at a higher res.

Maybe if Gibbo does an OCUK reference at £400 i might just shut up and finally buy something. :D

Reference is now EOL they will only be getting more expensive if they become hard to source, so more likely to be £449 than £399 to be honest.

Interesting! This is quite similar to your statement about KFA2 GTX 780 HOF. You said it will be increased to £429 from £389.

Then NVIDIA made a price drop and all 780's dropped, as did 780TI's, 770's and 760's as NVIDIA are clearing the stocks as they are all now EOL!

:)

Have you tried the 980 in sli yet? the heaven score was a little low imho lol , would love to see what they run like when water cooled as well.
Patience isnt a virtue is a pita

Can you beat my Heaven score?

Yes see my original review of reference 980's in SLI which I did on launch day. :)

Well the demand is good so i guess so. I have pretty much mastered patience though. You should do the OCUK ref version as a one per customer special at 399.99 with the free delivery code or something. If people could have one for that price on thier credit card bill you would see them fly like hot cakes and create some insane buzz. Weve already saw a few go for £419.99 with the code.

Not to mention everyone talking about it on deal sites and ocuk smashing the competition. Here is my credit card come get it Mr Gibbo. :D:p

But if they are no longer in production and as such will run out before the year is out to give them away now would be absolute silly, especially if in a months time the market price has risen due to shortage and rarity of getting a 980 with NV cooler which is the best solution for 3-way and 4-way SLI configurations.

So £399 and FREE shipping I won't do I am afraid, if things change and we can get continued supply of 980 with NV cooler at a good price, then I am not saying it is impossible but most board partners have now ceased the reference model in exchange for their own cooling designs.

I shall sort something on TODAY ONLY for the weekend, but it won't be £399 unfortunately, but the price will be good and you can use the free shipping code we have in circulation or if your a loyal forum member you get free shipping anyway. :)

well i got 2 x 780`s and get score of 3838 without trying, i expect i did something wrong tho haha ill get a pic uploaded

That was on BETA driver, the new drivers have unleashed more performance since I did my original review. :)

I personally think a good business move would be to discount to the 295x2.. considering sli 970s come fairly close with a lot less heat/power. Can't really see the 295x2 selling, but I may be wrong!

I agree, but we won't move unless AMD support us to move. :)

But good news is we have sold over 25 units of 295 X2 this week, it is still an exceptional card for 4k gaming. :)

Yep, that's what I've been told from AMD. They said there aren't going to be any price drops from them officially, and anything that is reduced is down to the retailer's discretion.

Our current price is the best we will offer, any lower shall be supported by AMD or their board partners. :)

Ah, I see! A certain competitor is doing the MSI 295x2 for £665.15 Inc VAT so AMD might give some leeway soon!

Why are you mentioning competitor prices? You do realise OcUK is £665.99?

We put them on a offer a competitor simply undercuts our price by a few pence, pretty much standard for them.
