GiffGaff unlimited net/text and 250mins for a tenner?

Ah that's removing the data bolt on. I forgot about that one.

So even by a miracle, t-mobile offer me unlimited net for a extra £5. It still wouldn't come close to what you get. But it would be cheaper than taking out a giffgaff sim. Bah I will have to see what they can offer.

Basically all I need is some way of having unlimited data on my Macbook to keep me sane through the night shifts at work. I took out a new contract just 3 weeks ago, I started my new job 1 week ago lol.

Can't really see another thread on here mentioning this so I'll use this one, I got an email from Giff Gaff the other day saying they were dropping Unlimited Internet on the £10 goody bag. There is some kind of poll going on on the Giff Gaff forums about what to change it to, e.g. 750meg for £10, pay more for unlimted but allow tethering etc.

So, anyone here on the £10 goody bag plan, what are you going to do when unlimited ends? Go to the next goody bag up which I *think* is going to stay unlimited, accept a finite allowance on the £10 bag, or what?

Just be aware that sometime soon GG will be increasing the cost of Goodybags and on the £10 I believe they are going to limit the data usage now.

Still for £10 it's best price out there.

Sounds like £10 will have a 750mb limit. Then there will be an unlimited version at £13 which may include tethering...or the 750mb one might include tethering...i'm not sure.

They have put the ideas out to the community at present so a decision will be made soon. I'd be happy with just 750mb to be honest i only use around 500mb and if i could use the occasional tether it would actually be better for me.

Yeah I got the e-mail earlier. Doesn't effect me really. Over the last 3 months I haven't gone above 400mb per month.

My internet usage over the past 3 few months:

- June: 879.40 MB
- July:1458.18 MB
- August: 828.38 MB

I wouldn't mind paying a bit more to keep unlimited and also for tethering!

GiffGaff do not allow tethering, although to be honest unless you really take the **** and download too much in a short space of time they'll never know.

Very curious as to how GiffGaff are doing 0800 etc numbers for free; it's long been an issue and my boss who has been in telecoms his whole life and deals entirely with phone numbers is very puzzled by it due to the amount of supliers and companies involved; he believes GiffGaff are just absorbing the cost and not charging customers. Interesting either way.

They are going to scrap unlimited internet on the £10 goodybags soon :(
info is on the giffgaff site

How do you know that when the 10 day consultation period hasn't even ended yet, and there's nothing on the main site that states that it is being scrapped since the options being presented are to either increase the price of the £10 goodybag to £13 whilst keeping unlimited internet, scrap unlimited internet on the £10 goodybag settling for a limit of 750MB or a combination of the two where the £10 goodybag would have a 750MB data limit and a new £13 goodybag would be added which would have unlimited data.

What a load of cr@p. I'm going elsewhere then.

Not really. The options aren't ideal (if giffgaff profits were so poor, they would have made this move ages ago), but giffgaff needs to continue being sustainable. Yes, the £3 is a steep increase (and one that I don't at all agree with), but even with that giffgaff is the cheapest package available (along with Three that offer virtually the same).

Not quite.
You are mixing the features of Giffgaff.

If you top up with airtime credit you pay the normal rates. 10p/min calls including to the answer phone, 6p/text, daily data rate 20p for 20 mb then 20p /mb after that.

The data cost on payg will kill you on a modern phone if you aren't careful.
20mb costs 20pence but 21mb costs 40p, 30 mb costs £2.

If you buy a goodybag you get the free calls/text and data. But it only lasts for 1 month. if you run out of minutes you have to use airtime credit again, you can't just buy another goodybag.

You have to pay to answer an incoming call?
