The Gigabyte EX58-UD3R has been substantially reduced in price. Offering the latest Intel X58 chipset and a superb BIOS the EX58-UD3R is not only one of the best Intel Core i7 motherboard but now one of the cheapest at only £175.94 inc VAT.

I have the UD5 running a Xeon 5650 @4.4Ghz, still (touch wood) running superb.

Mine is still running daily as well with a Core i7 980X! I also have 2 x X58 Gigabyte Core i7 UD5 & UD3 mobos still running ok and another which is probably had it now but lasted many years!

Still have a brand new in box EX58-UD3R in my loft with a brand new, unused core I7 920 DO stepper cpu in it from an abandoned build years ago :)

WHAAAAT. that's amazing. I think you should build it into a shiny new case. with SSD never been cheaper it will fly

back in the good old days when boards used to be good and you had to know more than a brain dead chicken to oc :D
I have a X58A OC, Rampage III Gene and SR-2 i have to say they are much nicer to use than modern boards, especially in the bios!

I bought this at the time and loved it so much, I put a X5650 in it and it runs my pfsense, file and media server. Overclocked the 930 chip to 4ghz on water that was in it, went for a mild overclock of the xeon this time around as its a 24x7 server now.

Still have this running as main PC. though I don't game much nowadays. can't believe mines been 8 years. Probably taking the Xeon route like others have done later next year.
