Gigabyte GTX 1080 Xtreme Gaming

First of all thanks the OCUK community for all the feedback. We are not leaving these as it is and we are actively working on improving our product and service.

I want to address the 2 issues on hand:

The first one being bent fins that has happened in some cards due to a flaw in our packaging. We were aware of this and delayed our launch in Europe to fix the cards and rework our packaging. We understand that even after that rework some cards still had issues, but this is limited to the first batch produced and anything coming after will certainly not encounter this problem. There were also a few isolated cases where the fan was touching the shroud, this was due to the same packing issue and the shroud being deformed, this will also not happen again.
If you have received a card which is damaged in this way, please contact Gigabyte local RMA centre ([email protected]) with your serial number, part code, date & place of purchase, and we will assist you directly.

The second one being the unstable clock on OC mode. We haven’t been able to replicate this and we are waiting to receive this card in our RMA center to test it.
Regardless of that, our R&D team considers this might be a software issue and could be solved by the 1.04 version of Xtreme Engine posted today 7/12/2016. http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5920#utility
There was also another issue with the software that prevented the memory from being clocked correctly in OC mode, this version also solves this issue as well.
If you still experience issues in any of the ways mentioned above please let us know.

Thanks.

Send me one and ill put these claims to the test :)

Finally got my Gigabyte GTX 1080 WaterForce. I play The Division in 3440x1440 with almost max setting and I get 60FPS in most area.

The temp is at around 60C with about 30-35 fan speed. At that fan speed its pretty silent but when it hits 45+ fan speed then I find its too loud (about 1 meter from my ears). I came from Asus GTX 670 Strix so I find this card is a bit too loud for my taste but as long I keep it at ~35 fan speed then its ok. The sounds on GTX 670 ASus is more gentle I think......hmm not sure if there is something wrong with my PC......probably all that dust inside the case that build up for years lol....

I haven't overclock it yet and I don't think that I really need to since it stay at 2000 when I play The Division with "stock auto fan speed" and get around 60c. It start at around 21xxMhz when I first play The Division with this card for the first time and when the card hits around 50c then it going down to 2000Mhz and just staying there.

I'm not sure if you can replace the stock fan or not since i think that maybe a Noctua fan will be a better choice for me. Overall its a nice card but for this price (1.007EU) may be a little too much at the moment. Probably wait a few months until Nvidia has enough GPU in stock then buy it for less.

One last thing...my room is pretty small so it build up the warm pretty fast and don't forget about Evga's Hybrid GTX 1080. I think I read somewhere that we'll get more info about it soon.

same as my Waterforce . my card run at 2151 in OC mode but when temp hit 50'C it decreased to 2101-2115Mhz . if any games that don't use gpu 100% as i set cap 60fps vsync on 1440p like Fallout 4 then it will stay at 2151 but Witcher 3 it will go down to 2101Mhz

I've pre-ordered 1080 Xtreme and now thinking to change preorder for Waterford. But stock fan will affect the look of my build. Are you able to check if it''s possible easily swap fans ?
I know that with 980Ti it was soldered to the card.

If you asking about feedback regarding your products then I love them. Unfortunately not so much your sales policy. I've pre-ordered 1080 Xtreme Edition (standard) with OCUK weeeeeks ago, and this seems to be the only card you did not supply yet. Only because more expensive PP edition is making you more money. Any chances you could start sending standard edition as well ? Any indication on when can we expect a few cards ?

Thanks in advance

its total silent with stock fan profile mode. as it will only stay around 28% fan speed , at idle temp is around 29-31'C at full load is 44-55'C depend on how demand of that game .

at Turbo fan mode ( this is just one click select in Xtreme software ). the fan will ramp up 50% when temp exceed over 50'C but the temp won't go beyond 50-51'C but the you can hear fan spin but its still quite silent if you get used to reference cooling designed .

to be honest i had coil whine on first 2 days but somehow on the 3rd day it now just disappear (strangely it made the coil whine only when it was idle. when ran in game or do anything it didn't make any coil whine noise )

edit: my PSU is EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 P2

Hey

Could you check a couple of things for me, please? Could you check what temps you're getting under 3DMark Stress testing (FireStrike Ultra preset, latest 3dmark version). Please don't set any fan profiles or OC just use default values - actually best would be to close the Gigabyte/AB apps while stress testing.

I've got the same card and my gpu temps seem a bit high when there's no custom fan curve set and I really need someone with the same card to confirm normal temps.

Could you also let me know your ambient temp, please?

Your help is greatly appreciated.
