Yeah that's rubbish.

Only other retailer I know of that has a better policy is a famous high street one. Had an issue once and didn't ask questions, refund or replacement sent to store for collection. Will probably go back there to get my next monitor.

DSR no longer exists, it’s been superseded by the CCR since 2014. And you most certainly can’t and never could smash something up and return it for a refund.

Ah I didn't know about CCR.

But you are wrong about DSR. Yes you could return a product broken. The company HAD to refund you in full. They could, however, then chase you for damages. In practice of course no company would do that. They would just refuse the refund.

You don't need to return as faulty, just return it. I would strongly advise you call them up, rather than go through the online webchat. I've been asking for an update to mine since last July! They asked for more information which I sent across, then silence.
