** GIGABYTE Masters of Overclocking Mini OC competition ** See inside for details!

LOL yeah I did, my BIOS is pants with high voltages, it runs up to 1.6v then the next step is 1.8(which is what I had it on) then the next is 2.0

I've got no options to change PLL or LLC or anything like that, just voltage, FSB voltage, PCIe voltage and RAM voltage. That's it.

I've tried everything to get 4.5, but it just won't do it, I've run the RAM as slow as physically possible (2.4 is the lowest ram multi I've got) with the timings as loose as I can, but it just won't boot at 4.5 :(

Looking at the temps at 4.3, I think it's probably temp related, I've got my fans up on full speed, I just don't think I can hit 4.5 on air :( shame really lol

Gonna try for an underclock :) see what I can do with that... at least it should be cooler than 72c!!! LOL

**Result post updated with underclock**

My E8600 isn't quite an apples-apples comparison because it's E0 silicon Vs your C0, but I can run benches at 4.5GHz+, 1.52v and I don't consider it an especially good chip

If you don't have LLC, are you able to probe the vCore and tell us what voltage is left at the output of the PWM? CPU-Z reading aren't always accurate.

I'd be disappointed if a P35 board couldn't hit 500FSB easily

What about vMCH/ chipset? Must be some options for that :)

Do you have Memset? There's Performance Level control in there, it might somehow be too tight and it's limiting the raw OC

:)

Post #28 updated with first % OC

I got the chip this morning, that was its first boot to Windows :) Screwed up the RAM settings the first couple times and it crashed

Motherboard Prize will be awarded to the user who submits the Highest point score on the following 3 benchmarks combined.

· Once the competition closes a winner will be randomly selected from all customers who have made ANY purchases from Overclockers UK that meet the above criteria.

There seems to be an extraneous rule in the competition rules because at the top it says "The prize will be awarded to the highest points score" and then lower down it says the recipient will be chosen randomly from all customers who have made any purchase...

Methinks the lower down rule shouldn't be there!

Yeah, OcUK have a tendance to copy+paste comp rules without checking for relevancy :p
Doesn't make the comps any less awesome, mind!

first i am new at the forum and i come from germany. my english is not so good.

i hope everbody understand it and this my first overclock. i am a newbie in so what

my system is :

processor : amd phenom 2 x6 1055T watercooled with Crosair H50
motherboard : Gigabyte GA 880 GA-UD3H
4 gb ram Pc - 1333 DDR3 passiv cooled
1 TB HDD
550 watt Lc Power 6550 Rev 1.3

how i overclock so what ?
i dont want extreme overclock only that it works with 3,2 ghz or 3,3 ghz or 3,4 ghz
only 400 - 600 mhz more stable

which programs must i have ? and i want that it works stable

i heard you can overclocked with this motherboard and processor

iviv maded i see in his signature look here with this system :

AMD 1055T @ 3.8Ghz (IFX-14 cooler)
GA-880GA-UD3H, 2x2Gb Ram
AMD 6950 2Gb unlocked to 6970
Xtreme Gamer sound card

when iviv give an answers i am very lucky

are you give an answer how i maded ?

Thankyou to OCUK and Gigabyte for the competition and prize :)

It's nice to have a compo that doesn't need 20 billion litres of LN2 and a tower of pre-tested gear

GeorgeStorm, are you using an SSD? becuase i've got the same board and same CPU, yet I've had to run my uncore, memory, cpu and QPI all higher to achieve the same score.

Just create an OcUK account and link it to your forum account..

I shall not be checking anything other than that ;)

Is there such a thing as 'too much' voltage when underclocking?

I got 1.3GHz at 1.22v but it wouldn't go anywhere under that, I didn't think of trying to lower the voltage, as everything tells me that if it fails, it needs more - in this case, more voltage wouldn't be needed but I didn't think of using less for an underclock... what you reckon guys?

Going to turn off the temp related auto-shutdown thingie later on and sit my rig by the window to draw in colder air and see if I can hit 4.5!! lol with 72c at 4.32 I should be able to cook my tea on it at 4.5!!

>edit<
Do I have to register my scores on HWBot? or is the screenshot/CPUz validator link enough?
...thinking about it, I didn't validate my 1.3G run... How gay... Something else to do later then! (I'll do that before the OC run just in case I blow it up lol)
