** GIGABYTE Masters of Overclocking Mini OC competition ** See inside for details!

I've got a couple of hours spare tonight so I'll perfect the 3d mark score, not much I can do with my overclock though.

I've got a CPU-Z/Hwbot of my Athlon II 620 that validated at 3991mhz but no screenshots, would have been handy if I could submit that as it would have been a 153% overclock.

Edit: was on a gigabyte board and complied to the rules too, I have a cunning plan to possibly squeeze a little more from this Phenom though.

frozen pity about the dates - would have needed to be done within the contest period. Oh well keep on pushing as they say. :)

Because I have you as odds on favourite to win this by the way. Your underclock is going to be near impossible to beat and 3D06 you can get it spot on. So all you do need to sow it up is a better percentage overclock.

The overclock is the hard one having all AMD kit, my last hope is the Athlon II 235e in my media center for overclock percentage, even with it having a lower stock clock I need to hit 4.5ghz and 340 FSB isn't going to be easy.

I'll drop it into my main rig after work and see what I can do. I'm not sure if I've got the bottle to push the voltages though, but I guess the MOSFETs failed last time due to me running Linx at silly volts rather than silly volts for a CPU-Z run.

I'm not sure what's limiting my overclock, its not CPU temp as that's fine. Had a poke around at all the heatsinks and the southbridge was getting rather toasty, so I assume that's the problem :(

Are there only 20 points available for 3DMark06? :) If we had scores in multiple categories, would we only get the single best ranking/ score added to our total? :)

Please don't forget my 3D06 update ;)

My understanding of the contest and it is just a simple common sense based understanding. Is that one entry per contest leg is required from each participant. Not multiple entries.

So that means one low clock.
One high clock and ...

only one 06 entry.

Not one per chipset platform boys. :)

The point that does need clarification is if scores are tied in 06 within the same chipset stage. Points shared is my vote.

In the event of a tied first place overall on the contest leader board then some tie breaker might be needed. But that bridge can be crossed closer to the time I suspect if it looks likely to happen. No need to worry about stuff that is not likely to happen. Remember there is no tie possible with the overclock and the underclock. So two of the three scores that make up the total are unique scores.

I wish I'd invested in a DICE setup earlier on in the year now, AMD chips love the cold. Would have made my life easier, been having a think at work and think I know whats holding the Phenom back on the overclock stage now.

In the event of multiple matching 3D06 scores, Awarding the earlier-submitted score the higher ranking would make sandbagging a bad idea... and IMHO, thats a good idea :D

I hate sandbagging in competitions.

When put like that I fully agree.

First in , first to the points has my vote now. ;)
